The Bristol Hotel
8/10 Good
"The location was great for the conference I attended at the nearby M Shed. The breakfast options were well presented and good quality and the setting was lovely. The bedroom was great in terms of cleanliness and quality of facilities.
BUT on one of the hottest days of May with outside temperatures at 35⁰ the hotel had taken central control of the bedroom AC temperatures which they set at an uncomfortable 21⁰. I opened the window but with no breeze from outside, I barely slept. Lack of sleep and heat-related exhaustion affected my participation in the conference on the following day. Colleagues who stayed at a far cheaper local hotel had excellent air conditioning during their stay! Overall, indpite of the positives I wouldn't stay again since a good hotel stay is essentially about having a good night's sleep and being refreshed for the next days activities."
"Nice hotel, friendly staff, nice grounds and beautiful restaurant. Hotel is a bit tired in places and I would say that's all that lets it down. Overall had a very nice stay and in a great location."
"Room was spotless, air con was ice cold, the restaurant was being refurbished so meals were provided in the business centre, no issues at all, good range of meals, breakfast was excellent. Point to note, the parking in the podium car park costs £18 a day. Bath is just beautiful."
