"The hotel is extremely dated and is far away from being a 4 star hotel. The rooms are small, hot & stuffy. The windows didn’t open fully (safety - fair enough) and the fan provided in the wardrobe was so full of dust it wouldn’t even switch on. Carpets throughout the hotel are old and tatty. The walls are littered with scuff marks and the floor tiles in our bathroom were all cracked. The hotel was completely understaffed so no wonder the ones that were there were cranky & frazzled. "The location is absolutely beautiful and incredibly picturesque. Our room was amazing, very spacious, spotless, and featuring a fantastic double shower which was a real highlight. That was a tear in one of the curtains and the French window onto the garden didn’t engage down at the bottom thus not locking properly alsowe had a lightbulb out on the wall lights behind the bed. "We stayed for a night at the Bel & Dragon in Wendover after a Chilterns walk along the Ridgeway from Princes Risborough. The pub was a lovely way to end the day - the room was very nice and we had a few drinks and great meal. It was the hottest day of the year, so understandably warm in the rooms, but there was a fan provided, which helped with the heat."
