We spent about $600 per night to have a suite (one king bed, 1 bathroom, living room with pull out queen). It was just underwhelming for the price we paid. The hotel itself is just outdated and feels like it needs a lot of updating and some upkeep. Upon driving up, it just had an underwhelming and old look that we didn’t expect from the website photos.
The week before our trip, we had called the hotel asking for information and they were pretty unhelpful and not very friendly. When we asked if they have any connections to photographers, we were only given the short answer “no” and no elaboration. We also asked if they had any recommendations for places to eat and if we needed to make reservations ahead of time, to which we got the response “there are a lot of great places to eat”, and that was it.
Inside our room, we had a paper thin wall between us and our neighbors. We could hear their entire conversations at 11pm and they were not excessively loud. Our faucet was also leaky so unless it was set at a particular spot, it would leak a decent stream of water all night as we slept. When our kids would use the restroom at night they couldn’t figure out how to turn it off correctly.
The beach was pretty, but it did have some trash on the sand compared to Miramar beach not too far down the road.
We opted to avoid the pools, as they didn’t look too inviting for little kids. The mermaid visit at the pool was a fun touch, and my girls did enjoy the smores and firework show.
