"Fantastic hotel! We stayed there after attending the Gordon Castle Highland Games. The bedrooms are comfortable and spacious with every amenity. We really enjoyed our breakfast! Highly recommend!!"

"The front sign states restraunt and bar, neither is true. I was asked to pay £10 a night for our dog stay, it was cash in hand to the owners wife for pocket money. Owner not sociable or approachable. Receptionist and cleaner were both very helpful and very friendly. Big damp patch on roof above bed. Business executive room was small double room. I got the room because of the bath, i had recently had a major operation and needed to have a bath daily, only one day of hot water even after asking for it to be put on. Heating was a joke. Cleaning gets done at the end of the week when you leave, we had to ask daily for tea and coffee. Shower constantly cold. Parking was small and had several big works vans. Owner invisible on daily basis behind clised door. I would not recommend staying here. Major concearn was that the fire door with sign "Keep closed" outside our room area was actually daily held open with a fire extinguisher. "

"Everything about this property was exceptional! The location was central to seeing sites west, east & southeast of us. Our room was very nice and the view spectacular! The on-site restaurant was quite good & obviously convenient. The best is always saved for last ~ the staff! In no particular order, we would like to thank Nicole, Leslie, Zoe, Lola, Erin & a SPECIAL shout out to Beth! This wee little lass carried one of our 50 lb suitcases up the stairs to our room, ran to greet us as we would come & go, anticipated our every need before even requested ~ dinner at 8:00 ~ yes, already secured! Truly if we left anyone out, we apologize because the entire staff of ladies could not have been more friendly & engaging!"

Cluny Hill Hotel

"This is obviously a budget hotel now. The house itself was once a very grand house and it has a fascinating history for sure. The views are good and our room was basic and clean, as well as warm. The bed in our room (56) had not been put together properly though, so there was a metal ridge down the centre that was raised up too high and should have been placed lower. Our main issue though was that we heard loud voices at around 4am. Men were walking around the corridors of the hotel and talking loudly, They did not sound like residents. The hotel gives travellers a key to their bedroom door but it seems that the main entrance to the hotel is open 24/7. There is a person looking after the hotel but he does not sit at the reception. So it seemed to us that people were able to come into the hotel during the night via the main entrance and wander around. This was for us a pretty unpleasant experience and we did not feel safe. The hotel needs to ensure that the main entrance is lockable and that people feel safe. "
