We've rounded up all the info you need to make your journey a pleasant experience. Follow our tips and you'll be breezing through airport security and enjoying El Calafate in no time. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- Firstly, and most importantly, pack your passport, important documents, bank cards and daily medications. Next, you'll want some in-flight entertainment to while away the time. A juicy book and a laptop filled with your favourite shows are always good options. If you plan to catch up on some sleep, a comfy neck pillow and a pair of noise-cancelling headphones will also be useful. Finally, leave space for a toothbrush and some deodorant to ensure you step off the plane feeling fresh as a daisy.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Squeeze all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 millilitres) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like a Swiss Army knife, and dangerous products which are explosive or flammable, such as spray paint, flares and strong acids, are also prohibited.
What to wear on a flight:
- You'll want to choose comfort over style. Prepare for changes in temperature by donning layers, and wear closed-toe, flat shoes like sneakers.
- Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It results from blood clots forming due to poor circulation, so do some gentle leg and foot exercises in your seat and consider wearing compression socks.
