Hotels near First Protest Against Slavery Site

"What a great hotel in a great location! Easy walking distance to so many local attractions and restaurants. The hotel itself is beautiful. They have a helpful and friendly staff and the rooms are spacious and very clean! The process very reasonable for a city hotel like this. I would highly recommend The Windsor Suites and will definitely stay there again! And our little four legged companion that joined us agrees! "

" I did not complete check-in or stay at this property due to concerns that arose before arrival. After my booking was confirmed, the property sent multiple additional rules and restrictions, including references to forfeiture of an incidental/security fee. The property also required a $200 refundable security deposit through Venmo, outside the Hotels.com payment system. This was especially concerning because Hotels.com’s own reservation emails warn guests not to make electronic payments outside the platform. Before check-in, I also found recent public reviews describing similar concerns involving misrepresentation and difficulty recovering deposits. Because of the post-booking requirements, off-platform payment process, and lack of confidence in the deposit/refund process, I did not feel comfortable staying at the property. This was not a normal cancellation or a disagreement over the listed price. It was a trust and payment-integrity issue before check-in. "

"Though we would like the ADA accessible double queen to be a bit larger to accommodate a wheel chair, we appreciated the shower/bath handles, low heights for hangers, and close vicinity to the elevator. There are also lots of power outlets for your devices! From Front desk to room service, to security, every staff member we encountered was always kind, above and beyond friendly, and helpful."

"I live in Philly and planned on staying here for one night after attending a wedding nearby in Bala Cynwyd. The property is outdated and garishly designed. You can tell they've attempted to upgrade over the years by just adding a hodgepodge of wall and ceiling accents/lights, and a dozen different paint colors. The maids were using old shopping carts to carry linens and cleaning equipment. There were two types of old linoleum flooring in the room that my sneakers were sticking to as soon as I walked in. The lights were bright white and one of them buzzed loudly which was off-putting and I turned it off right away. There was an overwhelming smell of a cheap air freshener that gave me a headache. I got back to the hotel at 12:30am and immediately grabbed my overnight bag and turned in my key at the front desk as I was not comfortable staying the night at all. The front desk attendant didn't even bother pausing his personal phone call or ask why I was leaving in the middle of the night. Wasted $161 on a hotel room that I didn't even sleep in because it was so uncomfortable, and is absolutely not worth the price they're charging. Plus, I had to pay for a Lyft in the middle of the night to drive me the 30 mins home. Overall, waste of time and money and would never recommend staying here to anyone."

"Property is dated. Wallpaper inside the bathroom is peeling and tile grout lines are dark brown- due to dirt not because of the esthetics. We could not get reception on the Television and the bed feela like it hasnt been changed since the the Inn opened, soft and lumpy. The receptionist is not always visible which is concerning because anyone can walk in."

"Terrific place to stay for the 50th reunion of Chestnut Hill Academy class of 1976. Convenient to shopping and school/City, etc."
