Le personnel est sympa c’est le seul attrait et c’est beau sous le soleil mais le reste horrible —un seul transfert bateau par JOUR ! Nous avons atterri à 7 h et nous sommes parti pour tetamanu à 18h après l’arrivé du dernier vol. Traversée en pleine nuit pendant 3h avec des conditions de mer désastreuse sans moyen de navigation .. sauf la boussole d’un iPhone d’un client … Le repas midi : seul le plat principal est servi Prenez une autre pension

Excellent access to some of the best diving in the world. Located right on the water and Tumakahoa pass, this location is right on shark alley and some of the most beautiful coral I’ve seen. The property is rustic but over the water and right on the reef. It is a lot like camping. Cold showers, no locking doors, damp bedding when it rains and few amenities are all part of the experience. The boat ride from Fakarava north is a little more than an hour and can really only be done in the daytime. Our flight was delayed so we had to stay in Fakarava north, which was fully booked and ended up paying for tetamanu and the pension on the north side. The staff is friendly but don’t go out if their way in hospitality. We had to ask for basics like toilet paper and they couldn’t accomodate any dietary requests or snacks when it wasn’t time for a scheduled meal. You eat what they serve, which is pancakes and fish for the most part. It was all delicious though. The dive guides were very nice and showed us some of the most incredible diving I have experienced. For me it was a special experience, but not appropriate for people that need extra care or a honeymoon type of experience like on Moorea or bora bora.

Die Unterkunft sollte sofort zugesperrt werden. Ich habe noch immer Albträume von der Nacht, die ich dort verbringen musste. Das Bett, wenn man es so bezeichnen mag - war eine alte Matratze, die man nicht mal mit Handschuhen anfassen möchte. Die Kissen und der Bezug waren klamm und es war alles voller Krabbeltierkot. Das Moskitonetz hatte riesig Löcher und konnte seinen eigentlich Zweck nicht erfüllen. Das „Badezimmer“ waren zwei Wände, die mit einem Vorhang als Tür vom restlichen Raum abgetrennt waren. Die Dusche ist ein ekliges Rohr das aus einer Ecke kommt. Man möchte dort nichts berühren, weil alles dreckig und ranzig ist. Der Boden hing an einer Stelle durch und man hatte Angst, dass man durchbricht. In der Nacht konnte man kein Auge zubekommen, weil man Tiere knabbern hören konnte und Angst hatte, dass die Ratten ins Zimmer kommen. Die ganze Insel ist zugemüllt. Das Frühstück war altes gefrorenes Baguette, was man nicht einmal schneiden konnte, da es so hart war. Das Abendessen bestand aus Nudeln und Hackfleisch, aber keinem frischen Fisch. Wir wollten die Insel eher verlassen, aber die Besitzer wollten uns keinen Transfer von der Insel organisieren. Im allgemeinen sind die Betreiber nicht an dem Wohl der Gäste Interessiert. Wir saßen in der Hölle fest. Das Wlan ist nur tagsüber gegen eine Gebühr nutzbar. Ich würde meinen größten Feind dort nicht hinschicken.

Tetamanu Village is a place to go if you want a one of a kind diving experience. The “wall of sharks” is spectacular! All the staff are warm and friendly. The accommodations are what I would describe as rustic. No hot water, but not uncomfortably cold water from the shower. Each bungalow has its own private deck overlooking the very shallow ocean water, that you can snorkel directly from. You won’t go hungry, the food is plentiful at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, served family style. I suggest bringing good silicone earplugs, the roosters make noise all night long.

Die Mitarbeiter*innen waren alle ausnehmend freundlich. Das Essen erinnert an Jugendherbergsaufenthalte: zwar frisch zubereitet aber wenig abwechslungsreich und vorallem nicht ausreichend - wenn man nicht pünktlich zum Essen in der Schlange stand, riskiert man ausser Reis/ Nudeln nichts mehr zu bekommen. Mein Zimmer/ mein Bungalow wurde in den 6 Tagen, die ich da war nicht ein einziges Mal gereinigt/ gefegt, der Papierkorb nicht ausgewechselt und ein frisches Handtuch bekam ich erst nach 4 Tagen, als ich angefragt habe. Aber viel schlimmer waren die Ratten: Nachts tobten sie sich mit dem Inhalt des Mülleimers aus (ich hatte KEIN Essen im Bungalow) - zum Glück hatte ich alle meine Sachen in den verschlossenen Reisesachen gelassen - nagten meine FlipFlops an und in einer Nacht wurde ich davon geweckt, dass zumindest eine Ratte in meinem Bett auf meinem Kopf rumkletterte. Was für ein Alptraum. Leider war die Reaktion des Besitzers nicht sonderlich überrascht oder geschockt. Mir scheint auch nicht, dass der Eigentümer besondere Massnahmen in die Wegeleiten wird, um diese unschönen Zustände zu verbessern. Ich persönlich würde einen Aufenthalt in Süd Fakarava (Tetamanu Village) nicht weiter empfehlen.

Go only for diving!
Do NOT stay in this place except if you are going to dive the Wall of Sharks!! And Maximus 2 days if you do! The price for room is so much more than you really get. The surroundings and the reef is beautiful but the bungalows are terrible. We were prepared for a simple bungalow with no hot water but everything and espacially the sheets was wet/moisty. Bring your own sleepingbag/sheet!!! Food was what you could expect but they use rainwater for drinking and clean the bottles in saltwater. We had problems with our stomach aften out days here. The young couple who helps in the kitchen during the day is nice and serviceminded.

Très médiocre et décevant
Hotel sur un site merveilleux mais malheureusement rien n'est fait pour procurer un minimum de confort. Il semble que le proprietaire veut gagner le maximum d'argent sans investir, c'est bien dommage. Nous avions reservé vue mer dans le village nous nous sommes retrouvés sur l'ile sauvage au meme prix dans des bungalows déplorables. Une nourriture très médiocre (pates riz poulet et quelquefois un peu de poisson), un dessert industriel le soir. Quantités sont limites et donc tt le monde se jette sur le petit buffet, pas très beau à voir. Heureusement que le site est unique et que les plongées somt magnifiques avec ses centaines de requins (ns avons plongé avec un autre dive center que celui de l'hotel).

This simple guesthouse is very remote and basic, but I would definitely stay here again. Our fare (traditional bungalow) was modest, but comfortable and charming and set on the water's edge. Meals consisted mostly of fish, rice, chicken and pasta. The staff was wonderful and the diving spectacular.

Cadre incroyable ! Accueil très convivial du début à la fin. Sortie au sable rose magnifique, snorkeling très riche en poissons et requins, pêche au fusil .... Mais le plus incroyable le baptême de plongée avec Jean qui a rendu notre séjour inoubliable ! Vraiment merci pour ces souvenirs pleins la tête !

It was amazing to see the sharks from your room. The room was reasonable and modest for being in the middle of no where. The Island was clean. There were boats and roosters that woke us up early. Several large groups over a few days made the buffet style dinning stressful. No snacks in between meals and the showers don't have hot or fresh water. No red wine or place to buy snacks. It was a gorgeous spot these are the issues that may be problematic.

E' stato molto bello tornare al Tetamanu Village. Il posto è sempre magnifico. L'acqua calda manca sempre, ma si sapeva. Il cibo è meno buono rispetto a 4 anni fa anche se a volte i ricordi ingigantiscono. Un po' più confusi al check-in essendosi sbagliati con il tipo di prenotazione ma poi tutto risolto. Diving buono anche se si tende sempre a ripetere le stesse immersioni e molto più corte rispetto a prima (40-45' verso i 50-60' di 4 anni fa) con meno tempo di sosta per vedere gli squali. Forse ora un po' troppo affollato.

If you like putting your mask underwater and exploring an amazing coral reef in a completely untouristy location with such a wondeful and friendly staff then you have come to the right place. We will definitely return to Tetamanu village. This is not a grandiose 5 star resort- but rather a unique immersion into a simplifeid lifestyle of exploring underwater or a desolate motu with coral sand, community dining and sleeping in simple bungalows on the beach. Clean but rustic, no hot water for showers but you will not miss them. This is the "real" Polynesia

Amazing!
Simple but wonderful stay at Tetamanu village located right on Tumakohua pass, home of the wall of sharks. A multitude of black-tip reef sharks swimming just below the bungalows veranda. Excellent buffé for lunch and dinner prepared from what ocean gives. If interested in diving, this is the place to be!

Quelle déception : à fuir
Pour notre 3eme séjour au Tetamanu Village, quelle déception... Le site est évidemment fabuleux et on y vient pour plonger, mais la pension se délabre et le service est catastrophique. Les bungalows que nous avons occupés 3 nuits tombaient littéralement en morceaux en raison des termites et du manque d'entretien. Les matelas étaient indignes d'un hébergement touristique. La plupart des campings que j'ai fréquentés proposaient un bien meilleur niveau de confort. Nous avions spécifiquement réservé deux bungalows au tetamanu village, pour finalement nous retrouver au tetamanu sauvage, à 5/10 mns à pieds du village/restaurant/club de plongée (et on porte ses valises à l'arrivée comme au départ, sans pouvoir les faire rouler car sentier de soupe de corail ou de sable...). On nous a signalé que nous pourrions nous déplacer au village le lendemain, mais ce changement promis n'a jamais été effectif. On ne nous a proposé aucune compensation. Côté restauration, pas mieux : service buffet à heure fixe, une quarantaine de convives + le staff, et c'est la foire d'empoigne car les quelques plats intéréssants sont proposés en quantité insuffisante. Pour le reste, c'est boîtes de raviolis et riz. Les desserts (uniquement le soir) sont des fruits en boîte au sirop ou des gateaux faits à l'aide de préparations de supermarché. Pour la nouvelle année, j'ai commandé un punch mais "il n'y en avait plus car le staff a tout fini dans la matinée". Personnel changeant y compris au centre de plongée

Great place to visit
Tetamanu Village feels like a summer camp for adults and ocean lovers. Located right next to Tetamanu Pass, it contains its own diving center and scheduled dives and is a great place to arrange dives and rest in between. It is not just for divers, though. The surrounding area is also good for snorkeling and hiking the small island can also fill a morning. I spent 3 nights at Tetamanu and could have easily spent 2 more. The area is nice and picturesque, all meals are provided at the reception center (you can feed sharks your leftovers), and transport to and from the center is included in the package. It really, really helps if you speak french. My only complaints are (1) there are not locks on the bungalow doors or screens on the bungalow windows (I didn't have anything stolen but I am old fashioned when it comes to security) and (2) they don't have nitrox available for their dives. To do a nitrox dive you'll have to schedule your dive with Topdive. Overall I enjoyed my time at Tetamanu and may go back someday.

Le site est exceptionnel malheureusement absolument entretenu en ce qui concerne les bungalows. Les portes ne ferment pas il faut entrer et sortir par la fenetre ! Meme pas un pommeau de douche juste un tuyau d'où coule une eau froide et salée... Les repas si vous arrivez les derniers il bous reste aubmieux quelques pates. Par contre les plongées sont superbes... quelques petites investissements et cela serait magique

Un des plus beaux endroits du monde
La cabane de Robinson dans un des plus beaux endroits du monde. Un service aux petits oignons, un confort sommaire mais on ne passe pas beaucoup de temps dans la chambre et la nature, les coraux, les poissons qui vous envoûtent ! Un baptême de plongée magique. A ne pas rater si vous allez à Fakarava, passez-y au moins 2 nuits

On y va pour la plongée, les requins et la déconnection. Confort simple mais confortable et propre (pas d'eau chaude!). Reseau 4g aléatoire mais ce n'est pas l'important.Transferts depuis l'aéroport inclus (1h30) ainsi que la pension (bonne) complète (hors boissons) et les sorties journalières vers le moti sables roses. Une équipe au top !

Incontournable
La pension est très accueillante. L’arrivée en bateau obligatoire donne un avant goût de l’aventure qui nous attend. Le site pour la plongée est sûrement dans le top 3 au monde. Y compris pour le snorkeling. J’y retournerai dès que possible.

Hâte de revenir
Très beau séjour passé dans ce coin de paradis. Le spot est magnifique, les plongées sont de classe mondiale, on mange bien, les Bangalore sont simple mais sympathiques avec une belle vue et le personnel sur place et super gentil, avenant et agréable. La combinaison parfaite pour un séjour parfait. Il faut par contre être conscient du contexte et savoir que le tout se situe sur une petit motu isolé de tout. Il ne faut donc pas s’attendre à du grand luxe.

La direction joue avec vos nerfs...
Etablissement sommaire, il n'y a que le strict minimum dans le bungalow. Les repas sont bons. Le wifi est PAYANT et disponible uniquement dans l'espace commun. Cadre très sympa, staff ultra gentil, idem pour les moniteurs de plongée. Le GROS PROBLEME est la direction et sa secrétaire !! Très peu de réponse au mail pour organiser le pick up et le départ avant notre arrivée. Malgré s'être entendu plusieurs semaines avant pour une heure de départ en bateau inclus dans la réservation, la direction a décidé de son propre chef de nous remonter vers le nord de Fakarava que le lendemain de notre jour de départ prévu!!! Ca peut sembler incroyable mais la responsable nous a dis "c'est comme ça et c'est tout"!! Gros fail de leur part et c'est la seule réponse qu'elle a été capable de nous donner!! Il a fallu que le ton monte un peu et surtout la gentilesse du staff local qui a trouvé une solution pour nous ramener comme prévu. Il semble que la direction est coutumier du fait et fait comme bon lui semble.Elle d'ailleurs connu pour ça, suffit de lire les commentaires sur le net... Donc, très déçu de cette expérience, malgré et je tiens à le souligner, un staff comme partout en Polynésie au top et l'équipe plongée super sympa!
