"Hi place is clean however they need to have room fragrance our room had cigarette fume, obviously our sense of cigarette smell is very active because we don't smoke, smoked person was in the room not smoking in there. Kettle tray only has 1glass and 1 cracked and chipped mug, yet is 2people sharing NO beverage sachets so what's the point of having the Kettle. New linen is needed so as the towels. "Great Location, out of the city, but not far from shopping center and local restaurants. 30 minutes away from Durban. Checking-in was easy, and the room was spacious, and the lady receiving us was helpful and guide us where to find food close by. Breakfast was good, and sufficient, service was very good. "The hosts are charming and very helpful. We felt most welcome. The stay was very comfortable, and the breakfast superb. There was evidence by way of ash and ends caught in the rail of the sliding doors of the bedroom leading out to the pool, that someone had smoked in the room which was unfortunate."

"Great hotel. Great staff. Very clean. Restaurant food was awesome. There is live music, karaoke, and DJ downstairs which was noisy but everyone was having a great time. We still slept sound. Will return."

"We ended up staying at another property due to locals warning us that the area where this property is situated is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS and that the would not recommend us going there at all. We were expecting to arrive after dark thus did not want to take the chance."

"We especially liked the friendliness of the staff,the wonderful quiet garden and the breakfast. Unluckily our whirlpool did not work and we missed a brush to clean the toilet. But these 2 little mistakes do not bother our great experience with u Shaka manor."

"We had a lovely couple of nights stay. It’s a great location for visiting Umhlanga, everyone was lovely and the accommodation was extremely comfortable with a lovely lounge at the top of the property, with a great view of the sea. Highly recommend and will stay again when next visiting"
