"A little out of the way but very worth the extra drive - note that the road out to the guesthouse is gravel and the driveway is a bit steep. Lovely clean little house with a nice kitchen area, tidy rooms, and good bathrooms. Great views. Owners and other guests were very pleasant. We didn’t take advantage of purchasing meals but they looked very good. "

You could even see Icelandic horses from the window. Host was very responsive and we had a great time. Would highly recommend."

"Self-check in was easy and allowed for flexible arrival time. The room was plenty sufficient for my husband and me in the big bed and 2 sons (ages 17 and 12) in the bunk beds. The two restroom facilities downstairs were clean and well-maintained. The kitchen was well-stocked, and we appreciated the instant coffee. The area around the hotel felt safe and was near a fuel station and restaurants."

"The host Siggi, is extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of Iceland. We talked with him over coffee and breakfast which was delicious and included BTW. Siggi is the third generation farming on his grandfather’s land in a beautiful area right about Malari beach. He was able and enthused to discuss Icelandic history, conditions since becoming a republic in 1944, and future prospects given its ideal location between Europe and North America. All in all, nice homey atmosphere and friendly...

"We had a wonderful stay at this quaint guesthouse. The town is small but worth the trip. We would also highly recommend making a dinner reservation @ Aldan, as there are limited options for dining, but this restaurant was wonderful, food was tasty and the staff was very friendly. "

"Talk about eco-friendly, this hotel generates its own electricity from a creek. Ever stay in a sod hotel? U never know the storm outside has 50 mph winds! It was a wonderful stay, very secluded and accomodating. Restaurant was not open in winter, so bring food. Good place to search for the northern lights."

"Un ensembre de 6 chambres sur la colline a 3,5km de la ville donc au calme. Chambre ni trop grande ni trop petite Coin cuisine ideal pour rechauffer des plats quand on n a plus envie de ressortir . Tout est bien fonctionnel pour un court sejour. "

"It's a lovely guesthouse in a former school building, with a small room but a comfortable common area and a well stocked kitchen. Beautiful views of the fjord. The area is a bit isolated--just a tiny village, and it takes over an hour to get there from the main road by a steep winding dirt road. We hiked up the hill, but the trail isn't well maintained. It's a great place for peace and quiet, but not as a base for exploring the eastern fjords."
