"Nice homestead but there was no mention of shared facilities (ie a single toilet & shower) to accommodate the entire house when booking. Other guests decided to fry up some fish late at night and the smell permeated into the bedroom, very unpleasant but guess we cant fault the host for this. Our bedroom was right next to the shared bathroom and soundproofing was limited! Bedding was clean but found a random sock and some other bits which implies a surface clean only between guests. "We had booked Stóra Sandfell Rooms and Cottages for two nights but ended up staying only one. The setting is very peaceful and quiet, surrounded by woods, and it was different from the other places we stayed along the Ring Road. The kitchen was nice to have, and I can see how the patio and grill would be lovely in better weather, though the rain kept us from really enjoying those. The cabin has a rustic cottage feel, which some travelers may really enjoy. My daughter had been excited to sleep...
