Never again! Horrible experience!
This apartment (we stayed for 5 nights) was a true nightmare. When we arrived it was very dirty. In all the rooms were signs (several with many linguistic errors, see the photo) warning us to clean up after ourselves otherwise our credit card would be charged extra. This is paradox, as we didn't receive the apartment clean in the first place. There was also no possibility for cleaning without using our own hands. The vacuum cleaner did not work; there were no sponges nor dishclothes. There wasn't even any soap although when we booked it clearly said that there would be free toiletry items. The kitchen was poorly equipped, there were no pans, no toaster. There were no instructions how to use the stove or how to turn on hot water in the bathroom. There was no table, nor chairs, just two sofas. We tried to use the iron board for dining but it simply collapsed. WIFI (although promised) did not work (due to extremely poor connection). The worst was that when we came back to the apartment one evening there was no electricity. Luckily we met a neighbour on the hallway who helped us. We had to take out a certain stick (like a USB stick but for electricity) from the apartment and bring it to a (quite remote) shop (the neighbour even drove us there) where we had to top up the stick with cash (7 Pounds) for electricity. That is, we even had to pay for the electricity! Without the friendly neighbor we would not have known what to do. Our stay at this apartment was a complete ripp-off.

Believe the reviews about this place, go elsewhere
I would not recommend anyone stay here. The place was not clean, there was dirt all through the carpets and shaggy rugs especially, hair was left in the bathroom and the mats were dripping wet. We also found a large diet coke bottle under the bed and an unused cigarette. Also the bedroom door could not be shut from the outside without the handle coming off. If you are looking for somewhere cheap to stay, do not stay here. Pay a bit more for a better place.

We had difficulty for finding this apartment. we reached night 10PM and it took 2 hours to find this apartment. we were searching for the name Sakina apartment, we could not find this name. No land marks in the address. There was no previous instructions/guidance for how to check-in this apartment. No light was working in the Bed room.

Horrible! Horrible!! Horrible!!!
This was the worst travel experience of my life. The addres listed was incorrect. Theres no one on site to help and the contact person was rude, disrespectful and insulting. The location was a bit unnerving, seedy neighgborhood. The curtain were see through everyone on the street can see inside the room. Carpet was old and moldy. The tub looked as if it hadnt been cleaned in weeks with mold and hair all over. My room was triple booked to me and 2 other couples I ended being pushed out of the room and spend the night in the street. They never refunded my money. Again, worst experince ever with hotel and/or travel.

Recht gute Lage, aber keine saubere Unterkunft
Old Town ist im weniger als 10 Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar. Leider haben wir das Apartment nicht gerade sauber vorgefunden. Im Bad waren Haare und auch das Mobiliar war sehr abgenutzt.

Horrible!!!! UNSAFE!!!
Where to begin. I paid for this room months ago i took a taxi to the address Expedia had on their APP. The address is nonexistent it’s a boarded up building full of graffiti. I called the contact number listed and spoke with a man with a very heavy Scottish accent. He insisted he send me an e-mail with clear instructions how to get to the room and get in, I never received it and he became infuriated. He belittled me, screamed @ me, and insulted me and my country. He called me names and wanted to know what country I was from bc i was so dumb. Explained Expedia gave me wrong info. After being lost 30 minutes (we were 2 blocks away from correct location) we found it and got in. The room was dirty, filthy, see through curtain and the tub was full of hair and mold thick enough to scoop up. After being there 2 hrs 2 more couples arrived saying it was their room and they also had paid. We all shared our confirmations on our phones and sure enough we all had been rented out the same room. We all tried to call back the contact and at that point his phone said no longer accepting calls. I ended up leaving that night as i was afraid just being there. The building was seedy and sketchy and the people going in and out looked like drug dealers, addicts and prostitutes. We left and tried to find a different hotel to no avail so we were homeless for the night. I filed a complaint with expedia, so far nothing. I WAS RIPPED OFF!!!!

Not a good fit
This place might suit a gang of backpackers but not a couple in our 60's. Furniture was old, worn. Lighting was terrible, kitchen minimally supplied. Our booking was changed to a different building nearby with only a email notice. No. Contact with the management, phone calls, email not answered.

Verste opphold noensinne. Det er ikke et hotell
Det er en gammel leilighet, som ser ut som det har vært bare fyllefester der, i en vanlig blokk. Skittent toalett og badekar møtte oss. Sofaene i stuen var belagt med tepper for å dekke over flekker osv. Det luktet utrolig forferdelig, tross gjennomlufting. Takk og lov at det var rent sengetøy. En vaskemaskin stod overfylt med skitten vask fra før. Tross iherdig utlufting ble vi ikke kvitt den vonde lukten. Var mest ute under oppholdet.Det var renere når vi reiste enn når vi kom. Aldri mer. Og at det stod oppført under hoteller??? Aldri hatt maken til opphold og til den prisen???????????

Central historical location
Extremely disappointed, especially given the cost. Location good, but all other aspects very poor. There were very unfriendly warnings that we must clean the apartment properly or the cost of cleaning would be deducted from our credit card (they had the number). Building poorly maintained.

Not a hotel - this is an apartment rental
This is like renting an air b'n b - not a hotel at all. I was sent poor directions and a phone number to call. When I called, no one answered. When I missed the call-back, I called and texted - no answer for 4.5 hours. When I said I'd solved the problem without assistance, they accused me of being "childish" and said they didn't have time for me because they managed 108 units.
There are signs everywhere in the apartment threatening to charge your credit card if the place isn't left "exactly as found". Apparently, this does not include the linens, which I had to email to ask about. Basically, service is nil.
The kitchen has sub-standard equipment, including a very rusty stove.

Il s'agit d'un petit appartement situé dans un bloc d'immeuble à deux pas de Royal Miles, et non un centre d'hébergement. La propreté du lieu était plus que douteuse! Je ne suis vraiment pas convaincue de la fraicheur des draps. Partout dans l'appartement des affiches vous menacent de pénalité financière si le logement n'est pas rendu "clean and dirty"... C'est un comble! La localisation est très bien, le logement pourrait bien s'il était entretenu. Je ne recommande pas ce logement. Si c'était à refaire, j'irai ailleurs!
Having booked this apartment for myself and my friend, we found it very hard to find first of all, didn't expect this to be in a normal tenement building, as it is described slightly different on the website. After finding the apartment, we had no check in facilities, no concierge, no tennis courts (as advertised) and the apartment itself wasn't as expected. We found an empty wine bottle in the cupboard in the bedroom, a pile of hair on the bathroom floor, the bath was dirty, the pull out sofa bed was broken therefore sitting on it was very uncomfortable. Upon waking up our first morning, I slept in the bedroom, and my friend slept in the living room on the day bed, I was locked in the bedroom as the door handle was loose and locked on the door frame from the other side, luckily my friend came and she let me out and by the looks of it I am not the first person this has happened too. It a shame as this is located in a great area and seemed quiet enough, just the apartment itself could do with coming up to standards, not sure if I would book again or any other of their other advertised properties.

How do you rate with less than one star?
Web site promised parking - no parking permit to park there Cost 40 pounds to park in municipal site.
This is a purchased council flat with no upgrades. The cooker and fridge appear to have been rescued from the dump. The funny part about the cooker is that all the markings are warn off and they have magic markered in all the instructions.
No frying pan or toaster so you can,t cook breakfast. All surfaces were filthy and needed to be cleaned
They have the nerve to leave warning signs all over the place with regard to cleaning the apartment and leaving it in the state you found it in. Well I found it in a filthy state and had to clean it myself. Left it in better condition than I found it.
No washing machine as promised. Well yes there is one but it is in a locked closet. You can find the key on the second shelf next to the fridge if you want to wash your clothes as promised. I found it while I was cleaning.
Also if you took the time to google earth this apartment the address is 101 Holyrood not 102 as stated. 102 has a lovely garden and new windows and looks much better that the tenement that this apartment is in. Bit of a bait and switch there.
Owner is ignorant and did not returne my emails, texts and only one phone call
