I recently stayed at Edinburgh Marriott Hotel West, and unfortunately, my experience was not as comfortable as I had expected.
The main issue was with the bathroom design. The toilet door had roughly a 1-inch gap, which meant there was a clear line of sight both from inside and outside. If someone was using the toilet, the other person in the room could easily see them. This was extremely uncomfortable, especially since I was sharing the room with a friend. We both found ourselves feeling awkward and uncomfortable multiple times when using the bathroom.
I chose not to raise this during my stay because I didn’t want to create an awkward situation with my friend, but it did affect our overall comfort quite a bit. Privacy in a bathroom is a very basic expectation, and this setup simply did not meet that standard.
After my stay, I contacted support twice and was told that the hotel would get back to me. Unfortunately, I never received any response, which added to my disappointment.
I’m not someone who likes leaving negative reviews, and I would have preferred to resolve this directly. However, due to the lack of response and the nature of the issue, I felt it was important to share my experience.
I hope the hotel takes this feedback seriously and addresses the privacy concern so future guests do not have to go through the same situation.
