"Very well presented, clean room. Location was top notch, nice and quiet, only the beautiful sound of the ocean. The only issue I had was the nearly $12 surcharge. My husband and I stay in hotels on average 4 times per year, in different locations including Auckland, Tauranga and even Queenstown in June and never paid anywhere near this amount and wonder what we are actually paying for. I thought it may be a charge for the eftpos machine as I used GPay and asked if it would make a difference if...

"We've stayed at whakatane riverside holiday park a few times, but the cleanliness of this cabin was pretty poor, Cobb webbs and dust and looks dated."

"We were very happy with our stay. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this stay. The main town center 5 minutes walk to restaurants, shops, and the riverside. There is also a walkway that leads down to the river mouth, about a 20-minute walk. It's beautiful."

"Stay was comfortable. The bathrooms were separate from the cabin and this was a bit of an issue for us. We traveled from overseas, and are not familiar with the setup of holiday parks. Online they do not mention that bathrooms are outside and shared. Overall, it was comfortable."

"The partial view from unit 1 could only be seen if you stood in the right position outside on the balcony and then you could just see some ocean. The apartment had all the facilities, however it is getting a little dated and in need of maintenance. The fans had dust on top and the bedroom fan control knob was broken and difficult to turn without it."
