"The property is under extensive renovation and is messy and dirty in the public areas. Our third floor king room was fine. The breakfast area was in the lobby and very unsatisfactory."

"Ashley at check in made us feel extremely welcome & was very accommodating & friendly the outdoor pool was amazing being heated was a plus the entire staff were friendly & went out of the way to accommodate us would definitely go back again"

"The couple promised to call me back to resolve the issue but I have not heard from them yet. Very disappointing because they seem to be decent people at first."

"The room was very nice, clean, and comfortable, and the view of the golf course was amazing. However, the walls seemed quite thin, as we could clearly hear conversations from the neighboring room."

"Fantastic hotel. Everything was clean , and well maintained. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The hotel shows it age, but they do a great job keeping everything up to date. Breakfast was your traditional continental breakfast, but tasted great and fresh. The pool was warm and I enjoyed that they keep it open until 10pm. I was able to take a quick dip after dinner. The pool is a heated as well."

"The staff was absolutely fantastic.But the cleaning of the room failed.Out of the 4 days we stayed the room was supposedly clean 2 times,and all they did was pick up the trash and change the towels and do the beds.The bed sheets were never changed.I know this because one had a stain and it was never changed.Also the whole place needs a lot of upgrades."

"What I do like: Easy check-in, stuff is friendly, the place is clean and well-maintained. What I don’t like: Very bad soundproofing in the room, loud squeaks from the room above you when a person just walks there. Pretty damn restriction my 14-year-old boy faced when he was trying to take a breakfast alone: he can’t have a breakfast without a guardian until he is 18! Seriously? He can’t do it in McDonald or anywhere else, but not here."

"I’m stay, kids enjoyed the pool, no hot tub, and it closed at 9:00, which seemed early. Breakfast was ok, hot food but no fresh fruit. We had problems with our key cards. Room was clean, but bathroom was really tight spaced."

"Nice place to stay"

"Seems like it would be a nice enough place to stay with the family for a vacation getaway right on a lake. However, we were traveling across I-80 and just needed a place to stay overnight. This was a ways off the highway, so it required some extra driving to get there. The room was okay. It's an old motel that has been renovated but still seems a little tired."

"First and foremost Split Rock did not make me aware that we were staying separately from the actual hotel. This may have been a blessing because the hotel seems like its falling apart. Everything is old and needs to be updated. The place is so dirty and things donts even work. I was very disappointed with the experience and will not be returning. The waterpark was horrendous"

"Came here with my 3 children. Nice clean rooms and loved that there was a restaurant and heated pool. Staff were very friendly and helpful. You can even make s’mores outside. Will make this place an annual visit with my family."
