Good stay in Eaglehawk Neck
Overall we had a fairly pleasant stay. It was hard to rate this hotel since we’d been staying at much more spacious self-catering cottages while visiting Tasmania. We chose Lufra mostly for its location. The room was clean but small the refrigerator was tiny, but there was one. The bed was pretty comfortable and we had a small table with 2 chairs. The bathroom had a renovation sometime in the not so distant path, and the view from our “premium” Queen was splendid. We enjoyed watching the ocean and the surfers in the evenings. The hotel was somewhat dated, but in decent shape. The staff was friendly and helpful. We appreciated the use of the guest laundry. Washing was free (there were 2 washers) and I believe the dryer (there was only 1) $3. Would we choose to stay here some time in the future if in the area? I certainly could.

Amazing views from comfortable rooms
We stayed here after a day trip to Port Arthur. On arrival, the hotel signs were obscured on the main road by flora. The hotel is a little dated in its main areas (furniture and carpets), but our room was clean, modern and comfortable, with the most amazing view of the sea! The ensuite was small, but modern and very clean. The receptionist was welcoming and friendly, particularly when there was a problem with the door key. We had a continental breakfast ($12 each) which was basic, but very filling. I haven't been offered tinned spaghetti for breakfast in years, and it was a nostalgic treat!!! The carpark was spacious.

Onbetaalbaar uitzicht!
Prachtig uitzicht vanaf de kamer en mooie locatie. Kamerinrichting is gedateerd. Nieuwe vloerbedekking zou hoop verbeteren. Badkamer was wel vernieuwd. Zou het echter wel weer boeken.

The room was extremely dated and old and we were greeted by an older lady who wasn’t very friendly or helpful. The walls and doors are paper thin. Water pressure was horrible and I could barley wash the soap off my skin. Beds and pillows were comfortable. We ate in the restaurant attached where the food and staff service was exceptional. The location was a 5 minute walk (up/down a hill) from the beach which was very convenient. The place is worth staying at for a night or 2 but no longer until they upgrade the rooms.

We enjoyed our stay at the Lufra, we were very grateful for the free upgrade due to an issue with the room we had originally booked. Our new room was very spacious and had a great view. The staff were fantastic. They were very friendly and helpful. We had dinner at the restaurant and the meal was terrific. We will definitely stay there again.
