"The room was nice, but many details could be better. The paint job. The electric. "

TUI BLUE Palm Beach Palace Djerba - Adults Only
2/10 Terrible
"The hotel itself was OK, with decent food and some genuinely kind staff, particularly the doormen, housekeeping team, and one young male employee in the main restaurant. However, the stay was consistently affected by significant language barriers. Very few staff members spoke or understood English, leading to repeated issues with basic requests such as room temperature, food orders, and even obtaining an extra room key. As English-speaking guests from the UK, we often felt overlooked and found communication unnecessarily frustrating.
The spa experience ultimately ruined the trip. After being wrongly reassured about privacy in the hammam and later receiving a very poor-quality manicure, the situation escalated due to the behaviour of a spa manager who was dismissive, argumentative, and refused to apologise or take responsibility. Although a refund was eventually provided, the lack of professionalism and respect overshadowed any positives. Despite some goodwill gestures from the hotel, the spa management’s conduct left a lasting negative impression, and based on this experience, I would not return or recommend the hotel."

Iberostar Waves Mehari Djerba
4/10 Poor
"For a 5 star hotel, the rooms were not great. Water pressure in the shower was terrible and they put me in a room that was as far as possible from reception. It made no sense, considering the very few people staying at the hotel.
The first receptionist had terrible customer service. When I returned at night after a long day of touring, the fellow at reception was on his phone and barely acknowledged me, even after I had to walk all the way back from my room because me key was not working.
There were 2 other men at reception the next day, and they were friendly and responsive.
Breakfast was ok and the staff seemed friendly. But the coffee machines were sub standard.
If you are looking for a true 5 star experience, this is not it."

Hotel Dar el Bhar
8/10 Good
"This is a very pleasant hotel in a good position on the beach. It's relatively small, so the facilities are limited but it was fine for me. The room was lovely and spotlessly clean and the staff were all very friendly. I think my mistake was to go there off season in November. There were very few people staying there and usually only half a dozen in the restaurant in the evening. It obviously wasn't worth the hotel putting out any kind of a buffet with choices. I can understand that - but it meant that the choice offered by the waiter was very limited and to be honest, not of a particularly good quality. I was surprised that I couldn't even get a cafe latte and a piece of cake in the beach bar in the afternoon. There was no milk and 'no food for an hour' I was told. I'm sure it's not like that in Summer when there are many more guests. It's a shame because I did like the hotel - but the restaurant and food let it down.
