Baymont by Wyndham Hinton

2/10 Terrible

"My husband forgot his watch - the hotel said they would mail it if I gave them my phone number (which should have been on file??) sent me text messages saying that I needed to pay them by e-transfer $50 to get the watch back. When I questioned this because a flat rate box is $13 at Canada Post, I received a shady response about how there are service fees. I told them I would pick up the watch next time I was in town. When I arrived for check in, there was a number posted on the door to call that went straight to voicemail. I had to phone multiple times while standing outside in the cold trying to get in to check in to our room after a very long day of travel. The breakfast was not great - my son wanted a waffle but the machine was out of order. Not a deal breaker if it wasn’t for the other customer relations difficulty and questionable practices. I likely will not return to this hotel."

"We enjoyed our stay very much at this Holiday Inn in Hinton. The entire hotel was clean and very comfortable. The manager and service staff were very friendly, welcoming and courteous. The rooms were spotlessly clean and beds were super comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel for your stay"

"Stayed in room 111. The sink in the bathroom was a total disgrace, it was severely cracked and heavily stained. The heating system did not work correctly. The carpet in the room was torn and wrinkled. There was a strong chlorine smell in the hallway near our room and in the lobby, originating from the pool area. The chlorine smell was mentioned to the front office staff. They said it was normal but they had some repair work happening when we left in the morning. Our worst hotel experience in many a year. Stay away!"

"During our stay at Howard Johnson by Wyndham Hinton, we had originally booked for two days. After the first day, we had to cancel the remainder of our trip due to a family situation. We requested a refund for the unused night, and the manager was very understanding and kindly processed the refund. The staff were very helpful, and the hotel was clean and well maintained. We greatly appreciated their compassion and excellent customer service during a difficult time. Highly recommended."
