"We loved everything about our stay - just wished we had stayed longer. The beachfront room was perfect for our family and the view was amazing. The beach was perfect for the kids to swim and snorkel and we even got to meet some friendly sting rays right off the shore! The restaurant had good food options - all of which were yummy. We will definitely be returning :)"

"The room was very clean and had great amenities. The staff were incredibly friendly. The space is beautiful and charming. Bartender and Restaurant staff were exceptional and the food was amazing. My only piece of feedback would be to add some lounge chairs near the pool. But next time I come back to St Thomas there is no doubt I’m staying at Hotel 1829! "

"My STRONG advice is to pay extra for a superior room.
I stayed the economy double and it was not nice. Do not stay in 113, we had roaches in our room. I also stayed in 43 (I think) no roaches. I will upload a picture of our view from 113. Looked at a wall with peeling paint.
Pros of hotel:
- Upper level rooms look nice (Superior rooms)
- Included Breakfast is cooked to order, nice and fast!
- Staff is nice
- Close to town. You can walk to the ferry terminal. save $20 each in cab fare...

The pool was small but very nice providing a view of the hills surrounding St. Thomas and overlooking the town itself. It was within walking distance of just about everything that we wanted to see. "Power went out often on the island, a generator is needed at this property. Out flight was cancelled and we lost a day. I was told we would get credit for that but haven’t received confirmation of that yet. Location is okay, taxi service is a few blocks away, restaurants close. Not sure if I’d return or recommend at this time, still waiting on owner to honor his verbal agreement. But no matter what, a generator is desperately needed to protect a quality experience. "

"What a beautiful place to stay on St. John, a great location with outstanding views.
The restaurant was wonderful, we had two outstanding dinners and enjoyed after dinner drinks at the bar each evening.
