Quiet and original

The castle is beautiful, located in a charming little village. The room was clean, quiet, bed comfortable. It has a relatively small bathroom with small shower located in a corner. The toilets are separated to the right of the fire place. We did not eat at the restaurant because we were not hungry enough. The menu only offered expensive choices. No coffee machine or mini fridge in the room.

Having read some scary reviews, we were a little worried - but it was not at all Fawlty Towers. The building itself is magnificent - it's definitely the tallest room I've ever slept in. The roses in the walkway - such a scent. The gardens have a well-tended, shabby-chic feel where you can see the grandeur of the original planting being colonised by nature. The menu is expensive but if you are at all foody, go for it. It was delicious. If you are more budget-orientated there's a bistro just outside the gates and another reasonable place by the station. It probably helps if you can speak French as not all staff were confident in English. I would have liked more info about the castle/hotel/facilities in the room just because I like stuff like that.

Gorgeous, fairy tale-like property. It was quiet and peaceful, and we really enjoyed our stay. The family suite was very spacious! The only thing is the indoor pool is part of the spa and not accessible unless you pay the daily spa fee; that wasn't clear from the website.

Beautiful château, rooms and surroundings. Wonderful meal and the staff were enchanting. Only minor thing is we would have liked a a choice of something warm for breakfast. Just to sample more of their amazing food.

The property is a real castle with a sizeable estate, thought in the middle of nowhere. The rooms are huge bus ascetically furnished. This property is great for small events as they have excellent rooms for functions but only 12 rooms for guest.

despite being a pet friendly site, when we arrived with our dogs we were turned away aaggressively. When we asked for our money back , I was beaten up by the duty manager. My wife and I are both 70 years old. It was a very frightening experience.

I read negative comments about a fee for the pool. Having used the spa and enjoyed a massage, I understand the hotel position; the pool is part of a very tranquil spa experience. That said, the hotel is not really a place that kids would enjoy. If I had kids with me and booked a stay at a place with a pool, I’d expect to have access. They should make it clear that they don’t really have a family pool. Our bed provided the best sleep I’ve had in ages. I actually took a picture of our pillow tags so as to order some for our home. They need to put in an elevator or have staff carry luggage. I’d hate to see elderly guests getting up the stairs here.

Disappointing service and meal options as it was a Tuesday! The limited wine menu, never has any stock and you are always offered an alternative. We had to ask for the wine menu and our dinner got cold whilst waiting for our wine, as it wasn't in stock but noone bothered to tell us until we chased them. There were only 7 tables, but our dirty plates were left in front of us for ages and the 'Fawlty Towers waiter', had no structure to his service. Also rather than dinner served in the lovely dining room, it was served in the breakfast room on sticky plastic mats. This is our third time here, and things have not got better, it feels like the love and care have gone and jobs that were outstanding 4 years ago are still outstanding. The food was nice, but we wanted the gastronimique menu and was not advised that this was unavailable at booking, so had no choice but have the lesser menu. Previously it was available on a Tuesday, as this is the day we travel home.After eating breakfast a previous year, we did not bother this time as other hotels give you much better options with hot food, and better quality items for the same price. The shower leaked and the sealant is mouldy. We could not have the windows open during the night due to noise from the frogs!! But the duvet was a tog you would use in winter, and there was no fan, so it was not a comfortable nights sleep, being summer. We will not visit again due to the Tuesday menu choice, as this outweighed the negatives previously

Stunning Chateau

The Chateau is amazing, you can see a lot of work has gone into lovingly restoring it. The staff are friendly and the grounds are stunning. The room we had was very generous in size in one of the round turrets, tastefully decorated with a super comfortable bed and a huge TV. There were just a few little attentions to details and the room would be of a high standard. Saying this, I would still highly recommend staying there, especially for the price for a room. Plenty of space for free onsite parking where the big wooden entry doors are closed at night which is a plus. We didn't have time to visit the Spa which is a shame, but if we return, we will definitely book some time there. Our only negative point would be, after an 9 hour drive from Spain with a further 9 hour drive to the UK the following day, we were extremely tired and hungry. We didn't realise we needed to book a table at the Chateau restaurant and it was fully booked. We were not offered anything to eat at the Chateau or any room service. We were recommended one of the only local restaurants open, Les Benjamins, about 10 mins drive, the last thing we wanted to do was get back in a car and drive again. However, the food made up for it at Les Benjamins as it was of a high standard and super tasty. I would recommend that food options should be available for all guests at the Chateau, even if not in the restaurant. And if visiting, make sure you book a table before you arrive.

Séjour d'une nuit pour le travail. Expérience extrêmement désagreable. Si la chambre en elle-même était correcte et assez confortable, le service lui, est tout simplement honteux et non professionnel. Je ne mentionnerai que très rapidement les cheveux dans la baignoire et le rouleau de papier toilette quasiment fini et sale (!) lors de mon arrivée dans la chambre. Je vais en revanche insister sur le manque total de professionnalisme du propriétaire des lieux.

Magnifique château en cours de restauration, les chambres sont gigantesques même si on peut regretter le parti pris sur la salle d’eau qui est petite et rajoutée de façon disgracieuse, la quasi absence de rangement est aussi dommage. Le vrai point fort est l’excellent restaurant ainsi que l’amabilité et le niveau d’attention du personnel.

El sitio es idílico , precioso, impresionante , el hotel, una verdadera decepción , en todos los sentidos . No hablan ingles, el desayuno pésimo y el estado del hotel deja mucho que desear. Los empleados pasan de ti, como del tiempo, igual, no lo recomiendo en absoluto , ademas de dejar muy dejado por dentro, pero si lo quieres visitar por fuera, es impresionante.

Accueil médiocre, chambre chauffée avec un poêle à pétrole —> odeur très désagréable Le personnel est moyen aimable et ne porte pas de masque de manière systématique ! Au moment du check out , on me présente la facture déjà réglée via hôtels.com je le fais remarquer (avec un air agacé indéniable) et je me vois répondre par la réception : ah ça va ça peut arriver ! Sinon : très bel en endroit dans son jus et très bonne table

Schlossaufenthalt

Preis-Leistungsverhältnis nicht gut. Die Zimmerpreise sind sehr hoch dafür sind die Zimmer nicht gut aufgeteilt. Das Badezimmer war offen was zwar modern aber nicht immer gut ist. Der Spiegel war so niedrig dass ein Mann (1,78 m groß) sich bücken müssen und sich sehen zu können beim rasieren, außerdem fehlte ein Schmickspiegel, Kosmetiktücher, usw.
