"The property is situated near North Berwick and has beautiful gardens. The building itself is a bit tired. Our room was disappointing for the grade of hotel. Coffee facilities were basis (one packet of two pieces of shortbread to share!). The cooked breakfast was lovely but the continental selection was very poor compared to similar hotels and given that one of the main selling points of the hotel is the Chez Roux restaurant. Cleanliness not what we would have expected either - some litter...

"Both of the ladies (Shirley) and ( I forgot her name) at the front desk greeted us with a smile and genuinely very very helpful and made us feel like we were family. The breakfast was very good and hearty! The gents in the pro shop were first class and were very knowledgeable !

"We enjoyed our stay but such a large building is showing its age and appears tired. Location is out of the city centre which was good for us but not if you want to be in the middle of the action. The Military Tattoo and The Fringe we on and centre was 'heaving.'"

"This is a great location and an even better experience- reception was great warm and welcoming . We paid for a premium room and were given the room called North Ronaldsaw, I would recommend not having this room - the room is great BUT the restaurant and bar restrooms are just above this room and as the restrooms use vacuum system so all you hear all night is that!
We got very little sleep as a consequence.
The restaurant was great with attentive staff and a good menu, the food was excellent!...

"This Hoxton location was close to where we needed to be in Edinburgh. This was our first Hoxton stay and I have to say the decor and vibe here was unusual.
Our room was small, but tidy. Bathroom was well stocked and shower was great. Bed was comfortable. The hallways were very dark and somewhat of a maze to get to our room."
