It was only a one-night stay and we love the location. Room is clean and bed is comfortable. The shared bathroom and toilet are also very clean. Friendly lady attended to our check-in/out. Nice common area to cook and have dinner. Next to a creek where we had a nice evening walk.

Lovely antique hotel with high ceilings ,clean room and bathroom, bar with pool table, gaming. Terrific restaurant! Staff were friendly and welcoming.

They were very accomodating, we had a bit of noise coming from the generator and requested a room change and they did it immediately and all staff members were really nice and helpful. The place is close to all the places, so walking was fun. It’s a great hotel and I would surely stay there again … Thank you

Was excellent except for some machine compressor came on outside the window at about 530/6am … was impossible to sleep through that - apart from that very com fort able

Facility does not have stairs. Shared bathroom fir many rooms, not satisfactory especially for older people

There are stairs in the building which are advertised as such on our sites. We also have multiple bathrooms and toilets along with some ensuite rooms.

Staff were great. Room was very good. But the boss - the son of a man very much liked in the area and previous licensee has the hospitality skills of a warthog. Unless you’re a punter or a member of the footy club, you don’t exist.

Staff were good. Publican has the hospitality skills of a fence post. If you’re not a footy club member or a gambler, doesn’t want to know you. Such a pity after the example his father set.

I love trains so having a train line right in front of the Hotel was a true delight!!! But don't worry about the noise: there are only three goods trains a day (and sadly no passenger trains!!)

We have recently stayed for 4 nights. The hotel is lovely, easy to find ( could do with more signage to the car park as it’s out the back and we arrived after dark in the rain). The room we stayed in was clean and organised. Each evening we came back and had all fresh towels. The beds had electric blankets which was a plus! The room could do with a small bar fridge & kettle. While there is a communal kitchen, when having children this would be more accommodating. Access to a washing machine and dryer was great however a little pricey for a wash ($5 a load, $2 for the dryer). The staff were lovely. When we had dinner down stairs, it was the best meal we ever had. The staff were very welcoming, the meals came out rather quickly and they were overall friendly and polite. When leaving, we were greeted outside with a gentleman cleaning the smoking area as this is where we exit. He was an angry gentlemen as he cleaned and had a horrid mouth on him All because someone had put rubbish in the wheelie bin, he was yelling, swearing, banging things around. All the words you can imagine. Saying things such as whatever c*** put rubbish in this bin deserves a smack across the head. Then proceeded to speak this way to 2 others who were having a smoke, in the smoking area. It was lucky that we had actually dropped our children off the night before and they didn’t have to witness such horrific behaviour. Without this gentlemen, we had a beautiful stay and would recommend to others to stay here

Loved the antique furniture, large kitchen/dining/lounge areas, upstairs patio, loved the building and my room! Loved it all, one of the best places I stayed at in Tasmania when it comes to cleanliness, staff, room, etc etc and certainly the best value for money ever!

The exterior looks old as per the era, the rooms and facilities are of this era…. Perfect. We had a wonderful 3 nights stay at this establishment. What a little gem. Staff were absolutely wonderful. Nothing was a problem for them. Parking was off street in private parking area. Shared bathrooms were cleaned thoroughly daily. We would stay here again.

Great location in a cute little town but disappointed by the very below average experience with the actual stay. Although the staff were very friendly and super easy to deal with upon check in, the actual room was pretty poor. The walls were coated in dust when the lights were on, the noise from an appliance outside the window restricted sleep, and to top it off at 7am a large truck was doing something with the building in the courtyard/parking lot area. If convenience is your main goal, the place is fine, but if you are looking for a nice place to stay then elsewhere would probably be better.

This was a convenient location to stay to travel to Cradle Mountain and the northwest of Tassie whilst also being close to Launceston. We had a room with an ensuite, and both the bathroom and room was very clean. There was a shared kitchen for guests, which was stocked well with cups and dishes to use, and there was also a mini dishwasher. The shared kitchen could have been stocked better with cleaning supplies. The sponge and teatowel were well used, and it would have been nice to have new ones available. Apart from that, it was a very pleasant stay.
