The Clontarf neighborhood is a lovely part of Dublin, with good transit downtown. It is also near many interesting places that are within about an hour's drive or less north of Dublin, such as Malahide Castle and town, the Newgrange prehistoric passage tombs (get tickets in advance), and the Monasterboices monastic site with its famous high crosses. ...

"Many positives. Old hotel steeped in history combined with modern facilities. Appreciated underground car park no additional charge. Swimming pool steam room and sauna facilities all very good.
