"This was one of THE best experiences I have ever had in all of my travels, including the two weeks in Japan. I struggled to decide which temple lodging to choose in Koyasan, and I am so glad I went with Joki-in. The check-in experience was wonderful, welcoming and helpful staff. We especially enjoyed the morning ceremony, which made the experience memorable. On the downside, the stay felt quite expensive by any standard. "Wonderful experience. Morning prayer fire ceremony with the tour of the temple was unforgettable. The temple has a piece of Buddha ashes. Shojin Ryori (Buddhist meal) was delicious and amazing. I would definitely be back for solo trip in the future. "

"This traditional Japanese Inn is thoroughly modern with excellent facilities, rooms, Michelin quality food, and helpful staff. We want to call out ‘Mikki’ who was super kind and helped us with any language barriers we had. The entire restaurant staff was amazing and we are grateful to meet the chef. The onsens were also wonderful. A room here with breakfast and dinner included is an excellent value."
