"I liked the old world charm of Southern Cross, and the relaxed, friendly atmosphere. The bed was comfortable, and there were some nice touches such as strawberries to put on our cereal at breakfast, home-made marmalade, and nice biscuits on the tea tray in our room. We appreciated these."

"Conveniently situated only 5 minutes drive from my first appointment of the following day, I got checked in with a warm reception from the staff. I have stayed there twice before so had an idea of what to expect. I had one of the external ground floor rooms which made it easier to go back and forth to the car park. "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Woodleigh Coach House. Lovely room, quiet surroundings and delicious breakfast in their cafe. The premises are within easy reach of main roads to nearby Exeter and the coast, as well as lovely local pubs including Traveller’s Rest and Kings Arms for evening meals. "Dog-friendly whether as a solo traveller with dog, or larger group. Staff at reception and others I saw very helpful, nothing was too much trouble, very friendly. Garden (not enclosed) at rear of hotel, with bin for those with dogs, or over the road at front of hotel, both had seating. If you have mobility issues, steps at front and rear of hotel, handrails present, and a lift inside hotel. "Great place to stay, clean, comfortable room with a decent shower. We had a nice quiet room and the breakfast was delicious. Good location for Teignmouth and Shaldon "

"The room was ensuite and well equipped and we found the bed very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide range of options. We had the full English breakfast and were delighted with the high quality of the bacon etc. The swimming pool was heated and was available from early morning to late evening. The host -Craig - was always very friendly and helpful. We plan to stay there again whenever visiting that area of Devon. "
