Wilmer and Andres are phenomenal hosts - that’s just as honest as it gets. They made sure that all of their guests were treated like family. The warmth of the staff is also a plus and the breakfasts they prepare are superb.

This has been one of the best experiences I have had at a hotel in the 40+ years of traveling. It is a very quaint hotel in the historic district of Cuenca. The beauty and charm jumps out at you as soon as you walk thru the doors. The staff is very accommodating and friendly.

Peaceful and conveniently located, we loved our stay at Casa Montalvo. The beds are very comfortable, as are the room amenities. The common spaces are also a major plus! There’s a beautiful garden and a lovely covered patio. Both have great WiFi, which we used to check emails and have a couple video meetings. Sonia is very sweet, and helped us arranges taxis and let us hang out in the garden while we waited for our flight. Highly recommend!

Cuenca historic center hotel

This hotel is beautiful and the staff is so friendly and welcoming. They go above and beyond to ensure that you have an amazing stay. The breakfast is made fresh when you get to the dining area and incorporates traditional cuisine of Cuenca. The area around the hotel is quiet and safe, and is walkable to other locations.

This is an amazing bed n breakfast in the heart of the historic district. The property is very beautiful and very quiet even though it's in the heart of the city. We stayed at an apartment the week before a couple blocks away that was very loud. It was nice to stay here and have a quiet retreat but still walk to evening. The garden is beautiful and the owner is very very nice. Thank you!!

Great choice for a get away!

Although the neighborhood was not the best, stepping inside brought you to a very nice, clean and comfortable place to stay. The owner/manager, was very accommodating to our needs and very pleasant to work with. Breakfast was nice with fruit, fruit juice, eggs, bread and jam. She provided good coffee, tea, or hot chocolate. The beds were very comfortable and the showers were HOT!. It was a very pleasant stay. We were within walking distance of the main Cathedral as well as several other cathedrals and shopping.

Casa Montalvo was a lovely place to stay and conveniently located, and our hostess Sonia was gracious and helpful. I recommend staying here wholeheartedly. I do want to give other travelers a heads-up that upon arrival you will be expected to either pay in cash (we did not arrive with enough for a four night stay in one of the suites) or, in order to pay with a credit card, you will have to pay an additional fee and have your photograph taken on her phone for some sort of payment app - this was not disclosed and came as an unpleasant surprise. Again, I recommend Casa Montalvo and Sonia wholeheartedly, but this payment requirements should be made clear when booking on hotels.com

Nice place within minutes from the center of the city which makes it convenient for sightings. The hostess is very attentive and the place is extremely clean. There’s parking nearby which makes it convenient if you have a car.
