"Fantastic location for visiting Arenal area. Hotel property is well maintained and easy to get around. Staff were all very helpful, especially when suggesting route to take to next hotel after a landslide closed the main road. Eating breakfast on porch overlooking lake was fantastic!"

"The Retreat is gorgeous. The views of the Volcano and Lake are amazing. The pescatarian menu is perfect for vegetarians and pescatarians. All three meals are served. We did not have meals included but very much enjoyed dinner and breakfast there. The pocket sized gathering places are charming - slider over looking lake, dining room and reception, the separate lounge area with tea and coffee looking into the jungle. The evening walk was fun. "Went here with my wife and 2 kids (15,12). This place was absolutely beautiful! You are literally in the Rain Forrest and you get a perfect view of the volcano when the fog isn’t there. Expect to have an occasional fly or bug get in your room but the master bed has mosquito nets that go all the way around. With that being said the entire resort was very clean, every single staff member was friendly and it never felt packed at all. The only negative was the food. It was so expensive, basically...

"The Fortuna Lodge was ideally located; right in town but tucked onto a quieter street, so you get the best of both worlds. So happy for the hot water and AC 😅 little luxuries that hit different! The staff was absolutely amazing, the food was delicious, and the property itself is just beautiful. Highly recommend!"

"Rancho Cerro Azul was everything one could ask for in a serene, restful, retreat. The location was perfectly peaceful and quiet with a less than five minute ride into La Fortuna. The grounds and rooms were very well maintained and extremely clean. The air conditioning was a nice break when it was humid and the hot tub was a perfect way to end each day."

"Family of 4. Just came back in the wet season. We have nothing bad to say. The resort have a nature trail.. It’s scary with all the fog and noises all around you. Don’t go all alone or you might run into one of the venomous snakes or wore. Property is close to a jungle and you will see all kinds of animals like Tucans. Restaurants food was good and security walks up and down the property with flash light at night pointing at the bushes and tree tops looking for things that they will not tell...
