The only criticism i have is too late for booking in and on a personal note i think 08:30 is a little late for breakfast. Beside that i found the place fantastic. Great accommodation and friendly staff and ideally situated for exploring the lake district.

Lovely room overlooking the beautiful scenery. The breakfast was fantastic and they even gave the dogs sausages which they loved.

Lovely little hotel that serves great food and has the friendliest staff you will ever meet. Had a good sized, comfortable room with a lovely view. We’re very dog friendly, even cooking an extra breakfast sausage for her! Would highly recommend, we had a wonderful stay.

It is a local hotel with pub atmosphere and clearly popular in the village. However our stay was good.

Charming hotel, with a lot of history, with its links to Donald Campbell and Bluebird. Room was cosy and comfy, and staff were so lovely. Really amazing location, with geat views and a fantastic beer terrace. Food was excellent. Could not fault it. Will definitely be staying again.

Great stay. Good location to walk the Old Man of Coniston and visit the Ruskin Museum and village. Parking on site. Lots of choice for breakfast options. Breakfast is available for a short window. Excellent choice of ales on the bar and friendly staff. Would stay again.

Best pub in Coniston

Lovely pub and rooms which are very comfortable and clean. Excellent ales, really well kept. Great staff and owners. Best place in the area.

Very rowdy bar. At midnight had a drunk person banging on doors for ages in the hotel.

Fabulous, cosy Hotel. Clean, comfortable and dog friendly. The staff here are so friendly, helpful and genuinely can't do enough for you. Had the best nights sleep-the bed was so very comfortable. The breakfast and the food in the bar is delicious, plentyful, well presented and a great choice of menu. Our only criticism is there are no outdoor bins to dispose of used doggy bags. We will definately be going back though.

fixtures & fittings a bit dated and worn plus a lick of fresh paint would be good but overall a good clean, comfortable place to stay in an excellent location Staff hospitable and very friendly very good breakfast

The Sun is a fine hotel. Our room was comfortable if a bit small. The bonus was windows on two sides which meant more light and ventilation. The breakfast was good, but not outstanding. Overall the is a fine value for the price and I would use them again.
