As a solo female traveler, the Overlook was too secluded - it broke some of the solo traveling rules I’ve set for myself. Also, was a little bummed the next morning. Upon check in I was told about their Fall Foliage Buffet. I opted to do this instead of brunch the next day. Turns out that morning was a Princess Brunch, which canceled out the buffet and I had shown up after brunch hours. But the cafe was open and I was able to get a little something there."

"There are several things that need updating, and a few need repair. The faucet in the bathroom sink was quite loose, not sitting tight against the sink itself, and I could find no way to tighten it. There was no leakage, but it was a bit disconcerting. The towel bar came apart; I was able to put it back together. The owner came out to offer to switch my room based on my earlier comments about there not being a table/desk or chair so I could set up my computer. I declined the switch because I had already settled into the room and had managed to set my computer up on one of the nightstands. Yes, a chair would have been great, but I made do with what I had. Overall, the room was clean, which was the most important thing to me. I would stay there again."
