I needed somewhere to break my journey walking along the towpath of the Trent-Mersey canal, and this motel is only a mile north of the canal, at the midway point between the Anderton Boat Lift and the end of the canal at Preston Brook. I don't think I would have been able to complete the walk without its being where it is. Facilities were good (like an Extended Stay property, with a kitchen; bed was comfortable; convenience shop nearby was a bonus. "

"Lovely hotel located in a serene setting with ample and free parking. We enjoyed great conversation with the friendly staff, especially those in the beautiful dining room. The breakfast was cooked to order and to perfection…delicious! The room was very clean although a bit smaller than we expected but the bathroom was spacious and fully remodeled. It is an old building (squeaky floors, flight of stairs to bedrooms) but it has an interesting history and vintage furniture pieces placed about. We...

"A special shout out to Sian on reception for being so lovely. I turned up at the hotel a little emotional after receiving some bad news and she was really lovely to me. This was my second stay at the hotel. I think the deluxe room is considerably nicer than the standard room, however, the bed felt really firm. Otherwise, the grounds and inside the hotel is lovely."
