"TV not user friendly. Toilet sat Exceptionally low down those of us with bad knees, Pillows all had poor neck support."

"The hotel is in a good area, it's close to bojangles and the famous "Haywood Smokehouse". The owners let us check in early which was a plus! The room is old looking, pillows were flat, there was some repairs. Room was clean. We might stay here again."

"The room was large, clean, comfortable. The location was convenient and ideal for walking to downtown Sylva. Very pet-friendly, our dog was provided with a comfy blanket and a metal bowl for her water. Perfect."

"Room was fairly clean could have been cleaner. Iron was outdated and messed up my white shirt. The shower head sprayed water all over the bathroom floor from a small leak on the side. Tv was slow to change channels after 15 min I gave up on watching tv. Breakfast had waffle machine cereal, and oatmeal only. Microwave sausage biscuit for your protein."

"The room was clean but you could smell the room before you even opened the door. Wasn't sure if it was cleanser or air freshener or what but it was overwhelming and hard to relax. Also the room was so small you could barely walk around the beds to get to the sink (which was oddly far away from the bathroom) or the bathroom itself. Was not a welcoming environment in the room at all. The river in back was nice but the property itself is right off a main road with railroad tracks you have to cross...

"Apparently, it is common practice to let five grown men drink outside for six hours right in front of the hotel taking upparking spaces they aren’t even using with cars and littering the entire area with empty bottles. The front desk said they were too scared to say anything, didn’t call the cops and said because they have hotel rooms there they do this every night. So a terrifying unhelpful dangerous place to stay."

"No elevator and we were on second floor. Staff was very nice and took care of our luggage but when you’re in your late seventies and early eighties going up and down stairs is not good"

"The Colonial Inn has a reasonable rate, it's pet friendly for 25 dollars a, night non refundable, a 100 dollar deposit that takes up to 5 business days to refund, the TV programs weren't very good, and there was no TV channels listing in the room, when I ask about the wifi password I was given the wrong password, there is not even a small single serve coffee pot in the room but they do have coffee in the office, the shower was good with plenty of hot water, and the bed was very comfortable, the...

"Such a historical and beautiful place. Staff was more than accommodating and breakfast is made fresh and AMAZING! Beautiful views of the mountains. I will definitely stay with them again!"

"The maintenance of this property was quite poor. The air conditioning unit was super loud. The shower drain was clogged. The sink drain was clogged. The Bath fans had been disconnected and were inoperable. My reservation was confirmed for a handicap room, but when I arrived I was given a regular room on the second floor and there are no elevators. Overall my experience was quite unpleasant and I would never book another room at this location."
