"The Langley Castle hotel was a wonderful experience. The staff could not be more accommodating, friendly and helpful. It's been a long time since we experienced such great service and felt so welcomed! We were offered help with our bags, which given the narrow and winding stairs, would be a good option for anyone with a heavy or large suitcase. I believe there were over 20 winding stairs (and not always a hand rail), so if one has any climbing difficulties, be aware of this. Our suite was...

"Quirky place to stay! Lovely big room for our family of four, in peaceful surroundings next to a ruined castle and 10 minutes from Hadrians Wall! Friendly staff and nice home cooked food for dinner and breakfast!"

"Room was fine, tea and coffee wasn't very nice and no complementary biscuits. No magnifying mirror in the bathroom. States Brompton however 8 miles away. Bed was really uncomfortable. Evening meal was nice, 10% surcharge on you bill! Wine expenses! Breakfast was so so. Waited a long time for someone to come to the checkin fest on arrival and departure. Probably would try an alternative hotel "

"All but one of the staff absolutely lovely. Unfortunately it only takes one to dampen the whole stay. Quite noisy rooms in the ground floor, main building and variable food. They have a trophy cupboard full of hospitality awards so it's just possible our off-season visit was just poor timing but we're unlikely to rush back."
