"Excellently run by Al who showed me around and gave an personal rundown of restaurants, grocery stores and pubs in the area. Breakfast cereals, milk and bread is provided along with butter and lots of tea and coffee. "St Ives is a nice place, it still has a tradition, no chain, department store for goodness sake. The Golden Lion is a good base to explore from. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped. The bar and restaurant is nicely laid out and decorated. Breakfast was excellent. All in all, really nice. Would I stay again? Yes, most definitely."

"The stay at this hotel was a stop over towards our final destination. It is in the ideal location for a one night stay. The check-in clerk (Alan) was extremely pleasant, professional and helpful.
