Our stay began on a positive note. The property is attractive, and the staff was welcoming upon arrival. We were offered a paid upgrade to an ocean-view suite, which we accepted.
Unfortunately, shortly after settling in, we noticed small cockroaches in the room. On the first day, we saw a couple. While concerning, we initially tried to be understanding. However, the issue persisted into the second day. At that point, my husband expressed serious concern and suggested we consider moving to another hotel.
We chose to remain for our final night since we were departing the following day. However, when we returned from our activities on the third evening, we encountered a significant number of cockroaches in the room , approximately 8 to 12 visible at once. This was clearly beyond an isolated occurrence and suggested a larger infestation issue.
We immediately contacted the front desk. By the time staff arrived, the insects had retreated, but the experience itself was extremely distressing. We were transferred to another room, though this occurred at the very end of our stay.
When we requested to speak with a manager that evening, we were informed none was available. The only compensation offered was reimbursement for a short taxi ride (approximately $5) to the nearby boat departure point, which did not address the severity of the situation.
