The Angel Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"It was a lovely hotel and the location was perfect as we were going to a gig at the castle. Staff were very friendly. Only one lift was working and they are very slow to call. We ended up taking the stairs. The reception area and lounge were nice and cool however the room was very hot. The room did have a fan but we could have done with another one. The shower could have done with a little more power but it wasn’t terrible. Beds were very comfy. Breakfast was great, lots of selection and very fresh. Unfortunately we stayed when there were roadworks being undertaken so it was quite noisy and you could feel the vibrations. However, we would stay there again. "

"Situated alongside Cardiff Central station this is a perfect hotel to spend a couple of nights in while you visit Cardiff. It backs onto the railway lines but is well insulated so you don't hear the trains. the breakfast is a buffet with a good selection of hot and cold items. Service at breakfast was excellent staff were very friendly. the family room sleeps four but room is at a premium. excellent shower and bathroom. The air-con is totally inaccessible for a blind person it has touch pads with not buttons so not on. give me an app please if you want this tech. Cardiff attractions are very close to the hotel the stadiums and theatres are all within walking distance apart from the bay which has to be accessed by bus. The bed was comfortable. a rear room gives you a great view of the trains so is excellent for train spotting."

"Signature room was great, good size , fantastic king bed and large well appointed bathroom (but could have had a hook near the shower for your towel). Staff at the hotel very polite and friendly, helped to change dinner reservation time after a delay on the golf course. Did however feel that prior to my arrival I called the hotel to ask about check in process and if my luggage could be taken to my room whilst they was playing my golf round and the chap who I spoke to was not as friendly and the conversation seems very difficult and one sided compared to the staff I met at the hotel."
