I loved the atmosphere, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I said in my last review that I would like a rubber mat in the shower, and there it was about a couple of hours later - excellent reaction.
Unbelievably friendly assistance at check-in from Jo. I had booked the wrong set of rooms for our family of five, which she resolved in a very efficient and accommodating manner. Unexpectedly spacious rooms with gorgeous views. It beat our lofty expectations, and we will definitely hope to stay here again when we can return to Macrihanish in the future.

We loved everything about our experience at the Ugadale: authentic and unkept hotel, golf across the road, quiet and serene space. Magical!
If you're planning to play golf in Machrihanish (and why else would you go there?) the Ugadale is an awesome place to stay. Next door to the Machrihanish Golf Club clubhouse, with a shuttle to Machrihanish Dunes five miles away.
really nice hotel in a fantastic setting and we really enjoyed our stay , very helpful and friendly staff ,the only kinda negatives I could mention was the fact they have a beautiful lounge bar but only use it for breakfast ,and you have to go to the pub for lunches , dinner or a drink ,also the same group own the golf club but you can't go there for a meal either

Problem with check in. When trying to register they said they expected us the day before claiming that someone had contacted the hotel asking if we could check in a day earlier. Fortunately I was able to show the staff my Hotel booking with the correct date. The matter was resolved but had caused us a bit of a panic before the staff member said that there was a room available for us. The hotel is a bit tired looking in places but the breakfast was
When we arrived we were given two rooms which both had leaks due to holes and damp in the bathroom ceilings. Tired and run down hotel.

At the time of our visit the hotel restaurant was closed in the evenings. No dinner was served. Instead, we had our evening meal in an adjoining pub where good ‘pub’ food was served.
Really looking forward to our stay at the hotel , but we’re very disappointed . Both my wife and myself are in our 70 s .
After checking in we found the room and en suit
to have a really damp smell . We found three dead flys on the window sill . The window which would nt open , due to the frame being swollen and flaking paint . Wallpaper peeling and stained around windows in both areas .
T.V . Not working. We decided right away to cut our Two night stay to the one night . No refund of the £175 .50 per night stay . Never be back !
Location is fantastic and hotel is very comfortable but very expensive for what you get - even if it is at a corporate rate, it is still expensive. Staff and service were particularly poor during breakfast. Staff gave the distinct impression that they couldn't be bothered and were keen to get rid of us as quickly as possible. Some serious training required to up standards - especially attitude to customers who have paid a high price for the experience!. It was very disappointing in that respect - standards have fallen. Used to be much better.

Stayed many times. Room was really good. However, the whole place needs attention. Flaki g paint, dirty carpets in all areas, worn in the room. Out towel rail in the bathroom was in bits and unusable. Severe lack of sockets in our room.
Food in adjacent “pub” - fish was good. However, chips were from frozen and not pleasant. Salad garnish was old and limp as was coleslaw - had been lying out for ages. This all lead us to not having breakfast, which, at around £18.00 we did not wish to chance. Far too expensive.
Staff at reception in morning was lovely - Caroline I think. Very pleasant and helpful. Made our departure so much nicer than our arrival.

Disappointing
Arrived to discover restaurant was not open due to staff shortages, cost b&b £209 but room small and view to rear ie parking. Shower excellent however.
Staff very helpful but very disappointed that required to get mini bus to Royal Hotel Campbeltown to eat which I do not recommend.
This was a lovely hotel. Full of golfers and holidaymakers . Our room was very nice, not much of a view but seeing the sun and friendly staff was nice.
