Honeymoon

We had a wonderful honeymoon spent in the Hitchin post. Really cosy stay, was lovely to have the fireplace to us in the evening. The hot tub was a great addition, especially with such a beautiful view looking over the lake and field of horses. Spent several afternoons soaking in it with a glass of wine. Was a great location, nice and remote for a romantic getaway. And close enough to town which has several places to eat and shop. The host was really friendly and just a phone call away if we had any queries

Lovely views, horseriding was great, best part of our stay. Was told on arrival no key to property no need to lock door!! There was tea and coffee but no creamer or milk which we had not counted on! A long way to the nearest shop! We hardly slept all night as so cold - no quilt on bed - only cotton sheet and thin bedspread- October night! No spare blankets. Was not shown how TV worked and lights next to tv seemed to have separate remote control that did not work. There is no hairdryer in the property - searched every cupboard - handwash was almost empty and clearly had been watered down - body lotion empty after one use and toiletries in shower not good either. No sink to wash dishes. Hot tub was not working which was very disappointing as that was a reason for choosing this property. Lovely looking property but expensive.

This is a FANTASTIC place for a getaway, with exceptional service, great riding, and beautiful peaceful scenery. The owners are wonderful and you will never regret spending time at the Rocking R ranch!!

RELAX!

About 45 min east of Calgary - Cozy well-appointed cabin overlooking a lake and a horse ranch. All the best - comfortable bed with down (or choices of other) comforters, full kitchen stocked with nice little extras like popcorn and candies; fast internet, free parking, superb breakfast carried to your door when you want it; delightful owner; wood stove, hot tub, lounge chairs and beautiful landscaping. I only regret I couldn't have stayed longer. All this for less than half the cost of the 'big city' hotel.
