Lovely place to stay, staff super friendly, rooms are clean and spacious, and the breakfast is top class, we have stayed 3 times and will definitely come back
We had a lovely warm welcome on arrival and attentive service throughout our stay. Room was brilliant, lovely character and very warm and cosy. All amenities we needed for our stay. Wonderful choice of hot breakfast dishes which were cooked and presented to a high standard and accompanied by fruits, yogurt, nuts, seeds, toast, preserves etc etc. Thoroughly recommend this beautiful charming hotel and will definitely stay again when in the area.
Good 5 night stay historic property great location close to bury center. Very well equipped one bedroom stand alone building. Clean throughout kitchenette smart tv. Good choice of included breakfast .would recommend

Liked: Cleanliness
We enjoyed our night at The Abbey Hotel and spending time in Bury St. Edmunds.
Staff are very friendly and accommodating.
Access to car park is very tight especially for larger cars.
It is an old building matched by the furnishings etc. which did make it feel a bit like a care home in places!
The en-suite in our room could do with some tlc and the toilet seat definitely needs a deep clean or replacing.
Hubby enjoyed his breakfast, mine not so much as the eggs were overcooked.
That said, overall we had a good stay.
Was a really lovely stay. Natasha was so helpful and kind. Easy walk into Bury’s centre, accommodation was full of character and very comfortable with a lovely breakfast in the morning. Would highly recommend!
We had a very comfortable stay. Our room was warm and looked newly decorated and very well equipped.. The bedding and bathroom were very clean and staff were lovely. The breakfasts were wonderful and cooked beautifully. A 15min walk into town for us seniors.
Would recommend this establishment. thank you
Great apartments/hotel with nice original features
Great friendly service from checking in to checking out, made to feel appreciated for choosing to stay here.
The room itself was nice, warm & comfortable with some original features of the building alongside modern details.
Breakfast was nice & a good selection from cereals to fully cooked breakfast with yogurts, juices also avaliable.
Wouldnt have any hesitation in staying here again.
Lovely hotel , service excellent, , furniture in room bit tired needs a refresh , breakfast really good , must give staff 10 out of 10 , on site parking, only 10 minutes walk to town centre
I booked this hotel as a treat for my mother and father. I just spoke to my Dad. He said the hotel was great. Very accessible, nice room, easy check-in, and only a short walk into town. On top of that, he said the breakfast was the BEST hotel breakfast he has ever had.
I'll definitely be booking again... but next time it's for ME!
The property was tastefully furnished which reflected its historical past. There was a spacious sitting room for use by guests and a kitchen equipped for the heating and simple cooking of meals. The tasty breakfasts were cooked to order with locally sourced ingredients. There was a small but pleasant garden with suitable seating areas.
The staff were always welcoming, helpful and friendly.
It was an easy 12 minute walk into the cathedral area and town.
We had a very comfortable stay although we would have preferred one of the slightly bigger rooms had one been available. I should like to have revisited with a friend but there are no twin rooms at the property.
Great service from all the staff, comfortable quiet accommodation only 15 mins walk to the centre of Bury st Edmund’s. Lovely hot breakfast and convenient parking in the small courtyard of the hotel was very useful.
The room was very comfortable and the service was excellent. The building is very interesting and quirky but the top floor room had very steep steps. The breakfast was very good with a lot of hot choices.
