Apologies to the knights rest, but we didn't actually stay there. I booked it on the day for 2 nights through hotels.com. However ten minutes before arriving at our destination the hotel rang me to say that they were closed and on holiday themselves. They apoligised and said hotels.com should have checked their diary and not booked any rooms out. They would be putting in a complaint via Expedia. Have since tried to contact hotels.com to be constantly told by a virtual agent to hang tight, someone will speak to you in an hour. Will have to let credit card company sort it out.

Close to the venue I needed to get to.

Although we only stayed one night, the accommodation was very comfortable and our hosts were very helpful and friendly, without being too over the top.

Nice B&B with very high standard of cleanliness.

Warm welcoming hosts. Very comfortable bed. Delicious cooked breakfast. Ensuite shower was very small, but clean.

Good for knights, but not so much for ladies.

On arrival it was difficult to find a parking space and there wasn't 'a car park at the back' as advised when booking. However, the hotel proprietor was helpful. Also, I was a little shocked that there was no en suite and there was only one toilet and bathroom for all four rooms. The breakfast was of a high standard and our hosts were very accommodating with our requests.

Two Nights In Burnham

I was in Burnham for a golf event so did not spend much time at Knight's Rest. The property is less than 5 minutes walk from the seafront in a quiet road. Hugh & Jenny are delightful people & brilliant hosts. They could not have been more helpful. Car parking was on road but, with Hugh's help, the local traffic warden was avoided! The freshly cooked breakfast was superb and the homemade marmalade excellent. The ensuite shower and wc were compact but adequate and the bedroom was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Overall, a most enjoyable stay and I would certainly return.

Nice B&B within walking distance of beach

I stayed in one of their single rooms which was very pleasant, I had a good nights sleep. The bedroom and dining room were clean and tidy and breakfast was delightful; the hosts were a very amenable, friendly couple. There was a shared bathroom that was clean and tidy, the locking system could have been better, I was unable to see at a glance that it was engaged! Unfortunately although the write up said there was parking, this was not so, luckily I managed to get a space at the end of the road, but due to double yellow lines, parking can be difficult which I would imagine would be even harder in high season.

Nice familie guesthouse near beach

Very nice guesthouse near the beach. Very nice clean rooms and lovely hosts. Very good english breakfast in a family atmosphere. Always again.

Unfriendly Host

First impression was very un-welcoming! We called to find out when we needed to pick up our key and the man said 'by 9--like it says on the confirmation'. For one, there was no notice on the confirmation about a time and within 7 minutes of initially calling him, he called back to find out when we were coming because he wasn't going to wait for us for much longer! We told him we were in town and on our way. He wanted to know if we were going to cancel since we weren't there yet! Within another minute, we were at the place. The room itself was OK, but our 'en suite' bathroom was so small you could NOT close the door while on the toilet! Nor could you move in the shower or you'd send the water dripping all over the floor off the shower curtain. There's NO off street parking so had to walk a ways with my sister (who is on crutches). Food was fine, but after our less than hospitable reception, we won't stay there again!

I enjoyed my stay at the Knights Rest.Hugh &Jenny made me very welcome.I will book again in the near future. It's in easy walk to the beach & the shops.

Enjoyable stay.....Excellent Hosts

Very enjoyable stay..... The breakfasts were very nice and plenty of choice on offer... Veggie choices very good. Jenny and Hugh were excellent Hosts nothing was to much trouble. We arrived far to early hot and tired after our trip from Taunton on the bus but were offered cool drinks which was really very nice. Our rooms were comfortable and clean..... On the down-side though we did not like having to share the bathroom with others although it was not too much of a problem the trek along the corridor through the night was a nuisance.....Other than that we really had a super stay... THANK YOU JENNY AND HUGH....Val and Phyllis

This B&B was immaculate. Hugh and Jenny the owners were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. Only down side was the size of the en-suite shower in the twin room.
