"Although the room looked a bit dated, it none the less added to the charm and ambience. Staff were very helpful and showed real interesting in guests including my wife and I. Breakfast very good especially the scrambled eggs. If you stay here try the scrambled eggs and salmon on toast. Only downsize is the parking, however as Iโ€™m disabled parking in the street outside was no problem."

"What a surpriseโ€ฆtop marks for the new owners, massive investment with more being spent but what a fabulous hotel, lots of nice features in the bedrooms, electric window blinds, motion sensors which switch on soft lightingโ€ฆno bashing of toes when a bathroom visit is needed in the middle of the night, great choice of menu and good quality, breakfast also very good, staff super friendly and helpful, we will definitely be back for another stay, thank you!!"

"This family run hotel is very comfortable and full of character. All the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. Great views of the surrounding hills. I really liked having access to fresh milk that we could take up our room to make tea. The room was well equipped- useful USB charging point on the wall beside the bedside table. Breakfast excellent - hot food cooked perfectly to order and a good selection of cereals, yoghurt, fruit etc at the buffet. The EV charger was very convenient. The hotel is not licensed but there is a cabinet in the lounge with a great selection of glasses that can be used with any drinks you bring in. All in all our lovely accommodation ensured we had a very enjoyable short break at the lakes. ๐Ÿ˜Š"

"We really enjoyed our recent stay at the Royal Oak in Keswick. All the staff were really helpful and friendly, and Cerys, in particular stood out, checked us in efficiently, and without fuss. She also recommended local places to eat, one being the the Fellpack, which was excellent. Our room was well-equipped and cosy, newly, tastefully decorated. The location was accessible to the town shops, bars and restaurants, all within walking distance. We would recommend parking at the local rugby club, rather than trying to workout complicated parking times and amounts at the council car parks. The hotel restaurant was cosy with delicious, home cooked menu choices."

"Really nice staff. Peter was especially helpful putting something Iโ€™d left on one side until I could return and pick it up. The hotel is pretty big running along several Georgian houses. The room was very large and very well modernised As a hotel they donโ€™t serve breakfast but thatโ€™s not an issue as several nearby places do. Itโ€™s located on a lovely spot - probably the best area to see Cockermouth . Iโ€™d thoroughly recommend it"
