"The hotel is lovely and well situated. We had a suite which can accommodate a family of 5. The pool was nice and clean (but water was a little on the cooler side). There were floats and noodles the kids could use as aids. The gym and sauna are nice but we didn’t get to use them. The room service menu is good and well ranging. Not many staff on reception at check out."

"I recently stayed at this hotel and overall had a good experience. The location is convenient, with parking right behind the hotel, and it was great to have breakfast included. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was clean, and both room service and housekeeping were reliable. The only downsides were the lack of plug sockets near the bed, which made charging devices inconvenient, the absence of a shelf in the shower for toiletries, and (on a lighter note) it would be great if bacon...

"We made our booking via a partner agent on arrival we were told to had to pay for parking which we weren’t aware of. £5 per night. We’ve stayed here many times over the years & never paid for parking . Despite pre checking in online the day before arrival with both guests details there was only 1 set of towels. Room was clean although I found an extremely long black hair in the bathroom I have a blonde bob. Value for money it served its purpose for our hiking break."

"Apart from my room which was warm and comfortable but lacked a bath towel, with only a shampoo and a very little round soap being provided, the whole place seemed sad and lonely. The Reception was poorly lit and signed, and was cold and damp; I appeared to be one of only two guests staying on the Saturday night and the guests in the room next to mine kept their television on until 5.15am and periodically seemed to drop something heavy on the floor. "Moved from the bull to the shepherds rest as an upgrade prior to arrival. Out of 4 rooms (party of 4), rooms 10 and room 4 no heating. The bull may have better but I’d avoid the shepherds rest. Also none of the TVs worked in any of the 4 rooms and Wi-Fi password not shared. A shame as the rooms were fine even if the showers are a little small. Place was clean and obviously has been invested in. "

"Continental breakfast was good and staff were very helpful. The rooms are a bit outdated, stayed in a double room on the ground floor. And they do need to dust the furniture in the room. Bathroom was modern looking and clean like it had a refurbishment. Staying on the ground floor was a bit noisy at times with doors closing etc and hearing the bar and staff entrance door opening and closing. Overall good values for money and nice to have Co-op and Tesco nearby. Plus the Italian restaurant...
