"My girlfriend and I stayed in April and it was amazing stay. Rooms are outstanding, one of the best rooms we ever stayed, and location was stunning. Beautiful marina, great waterfront views from the property. It was so quiet and relaxing. We went to Greenport for dinners. 10$ Breakfast cards were provided by hotel for Stone Street eatery and it was nice delicious meal. My girlfriend is from Milan, Italy and this was her first time in North Fork and she absolutely loved it thanks to The Shoals. "
"The site manager was very helpful and responsive. When I noticed that the room wasn’t very clean and the bed sheets had hair from a previous guest, the manager quickly provided fresh sheets and a new blanket, which I really appreciated.
However, the room itself could use some improvement. The shower floor was uneven with tiles that seemed to be erupting, and it was difficult to control the hot and cold water.
The overall concept of the hotel was pretty cool and I liked the general vibe, but I would not choose the bungalow again. It was extremely noisy with cars passing by all night, which made it hard to sleep.
With better cleaning, some maintenance on the bathroom, and improved soundproofing (or clearer information about noise levels in the bungalows), the stay could be much more comfortable."
"I travel for a living and am in and out of many places, Preston house is a step above the rest. The rooms are spacious and clean, parking is convenient and the front desk staff is professional and kind. Please keep it up and I will be back!"
"This is a lovely motel located right on the Sound and all rooms face the water. The room was clean and relatively spacious, though most of the space was devoted to the kitchen and living areas. The bathroom was a bit small, as was the sleeping area. My family, including an elderly relative, traveled here for a family wedding in mid-April. The wedding was initially set to begin at 3:30 PM; check-in time is 4:00 PM. When I tried to arrange an earlier check-in time in advance, I was told that I would just have to take my chances because the motel was unwilling to guarantee an early check-in unless I also stayed the night before the wedding or paid a high hourly fee (i.e., roughly 1/3 of the room rate per hour of early check-in). Given that a significant percentage of the overnight guests were there for the wedding, and that one of the four rooms I reserved was for an elderly relative of the couple, I was taken aback by the motel management's rigidity. Fortunately, the couple was able to push back the time of the ceremony to accommodate their guests because the motel would not do so."
