Hotel very run down and dated decor. Had to phone hotel to get somebody to come to the reception to check in. I thought we had already paid on booking through the app only to be told that we had to pay at receptionist again. We loved staying at the hotel and we had our 3 year old with us, There was no sound on the night, and the black out curtains helped our 3 year old sleep. The room was was very big and clean so there was enough room for us all. The staff were very helpful and always there if you needed them. The pool and sports facilities are not free unless you book directly through the hotel. Apparently this is a new thing as the last several times ive stayed here all facilities were free. I was very disappointed when i was told this considering how much I'd already paid for my stay.

Our stay at The Highfield was really good. The staff and service was great. Facilities in the room were basic, room size good, but tiny toilet with broken seat, tiny TV for size of room, sofa bed comfortable to sleep, but had definitely seen better days. Sofa bed arms stained, door looked like it had been punched as some paint coming off and wood a bit cracked, and marks along wall behind single beds (didn't affect room, just a bit unsightly). That said, as previously mentioned, the staff and service absolutely made our trip. It was a bit expensive for the state of the room, but I would recommend to others, as staff were so helpful and accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble.
