I've never left a hotel mid stay before, but hey, there's a first for everything. Checked in easily enough, payment was taken at the counter for our stay. The lovely lady behind the desk undercharged us, but at 4am, I was none the wiser. The hotel, at first glance in the jetlagged mindset we were in, appeared nice enough. We knew it was a cheaper option, but it just looked dated. That was until we were taken to the room. As you entered, there was an incredibly bad and pungent smell that I can't even describe. So we explore the room, it's clean enough, but then open the bathroom and HELLO BLACK MOULD. And I'm not talking one or two spots, I'm taking the majority of the ceiling was black with mould. Try to take a shower anyway, we had been travelling all night, and no hot water. Of course. So we go to get into the bed, and it's a hard bed, ok, but then I realised that it's a mattress topper. So we have a look, and not only the topper, but also the pillows, are vinyl hospital amenities. Great for easy cleaning! AWFUL to sleep on. We ask to change rooms, but are told no. We try to get through the next few nights, but the smell at night honestly kept me awake for the majority of the evening. I cracked it, and we left and moved to another hotel. Immediately felt better.
