The place was uncomfortably hot at all times. Right next to a main road so no chance of sleep as cars and ambulances drive by all night long. Staff don't care and wouldn't help me connect to wifi. Beds have a weird shelf on the bedframe that hangs over the bed making it easy to hit your head. Just an awful experience.

A fine old hotel, fomerly used by stars performing at the Hippodrome. Rooms now have handy kitchen areas, and are warm and spacious. Although breakfast isn't advertised, can usually be arranged.

This is the second time my boyfriend and I have stayed here, and it never disappoints. The hotel is rich with history with modern uogrades to the rooms. We stayed in the most haunted room (Room 214), and I felt like I had an experience. Overall, if you want a place to stay that is rich in history with modern upgrades and is close to the Dudley Zoo & Castle and Black Country Loving Museum, this is the place to stay! Also, if you are a Peaky Blinders fan, their bar is decorated all out with memorabilia and has events designated to this series!

Ok if you don’t expect too much
Overall ok At check in i was given my room key (1st floor)only to discover it was actually a family room, I went to inform reception and was handed the correct room key(2nd floor )told to remove my luggage, lock the family room and return the key. IT WAS THEIR MISTAKE yet I had to go up and down between 2 floors with my luggage surely one of the 3 members of staff congregated at reception could have at least come with me so after I removed my luggage from the family room they could return the key to reception 😖 Upon entering the 2nd floor room I found a plastic tooth pic and various bits of rubbish on the floor and a mark in the bathroom sink.It was clear the room hadn’t been cleaned thoroughly but by now I was not about to go all the way back to reception to complain so cleaned the sink myself ( left the toothpick and rubbish where they were) Leaving the hotel later no one was manning reception so I could not complain Upon returning later I completely forgot( been to party lol ) Next morning after I complained about the tooth pic I was informed it must have fallen off the cleaners trolley as they use them to clean 🤔. I could see there was no point mentioning the sink and unvaccumed carpet,especially as there were two other people at the reception desk who clearly were listening to my conversation . It’s a shame really because it is a lovely hotel, fab location, friendly staff but twice I’ve stayed here and twice now not found everything up to standard.

Unfortunately a lot of road works and traffic noise outside. Nothing the hotel can do and it did not stop us sleeping. A good location for central Dudley. Thank you to Sarah who went out of her way to change our room when requested.

The guy in reception upon arrival was lovely, polite and friendly and helpful I had forgotten my Glasses so he helped me check myself AND car in correctly (please remember it is your responsibility to register your car otherwise face a hefty fine from a private company not the hotel) My room was on the 1st floor and was informed the lift was out of order,once in my room I found the milk sour even though it was in the fridge. When I went down to reception to get more the girl reached under the counter and pulled out a tray with little milk pots on I had to insist on her getting me some that was fresh from the kitchen first she tried to tell me they had no more but eventually sent another member of staff to get me some from the staff fridge. The guy who brought this was lovely, he did apologise and offered me extra coffees for my room. please note that there are no lamps next to the bed there was a switch that I thought was for the lights but found it was not so had to get out of bed to turn out the lights out ( not a problem but thought worth a mention. A sign on the wall warns of the possibility of the shower running cold and says to run it for a few minutes to resolve this issue, or inform reception, however after half hour I gave up, I didn’t want to get dressed and wait for reception to come and sort it, then undress again On a plus point the rooms are like little studios complete with everything you need for self catering night or two.

On a very busy road day and night ….police and ambulance sirens passing constantly throughout the 2 nights I was there and on the first night there were other rowdy “guests” banging doors in the early hours of the morning and a tv on loud still on at 3.30 -4am in the morning…..so on top of having a demanding job to do, I was also knackered before I started.

The food service wasn't great. The Peaky Blinders bar was closed for a private party which went on until 7am in the morning so some of our party did not get a lot of sleep. We thought it was inconsiderate to other paying guests.

The Station Hotel and Banqueting is a grand hotel brought functionally up-to-date. It offers affordable accommodation in clean, comfortable rooms (my en-suite came complete with a kitchenette). There is a Peaky Blinders Themed restaurant bar on site serving local ales and locally-sourced meals (and a proper breakfast). There is also excellent free wi-fi and registered parking. The staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating.

Traffic works out side at the moment working through the night - even with out that the road noise kept me awake all night The bar is run separate to the hotel breakfast I gues could be arranged after 8am separately

The check in staff were friendly. The room was fine and I liked the kitchenette. There are roadworks right outside the hotel which meant it was tricky to find a way in, but those aren't the hotel's fault and they won't last for ever. The gym was a pleasant surprise but the elliptical trainer was not working - I had to manhandle it to a power point and steal a power cable from a rowing machine. There were three issues. First, C there was a function that went on into the early hours of the morning. The noise kept me awake for a while. Second, when I finished at the gym I went into reception at 8.45 to see where breakfast was. They said nobody was down yet to make it! At 8.45! Guess that was the function again. Then when I got back to my room there was no water coming out of the shower. No light on the shower controls. Had to wash in the tiny sink. Would have been good value otherwise.

Good value and excellent facilities
The hotel is in a good location with excellent access and ample free parking. The room was clean and well equipped with a fridge and cooking facilities. The bathroom was spacious with a modern shower unit. If I needed to stay in the area again, I would definitely return.

Good stopover hotel
The hotel has good staff who are welcoming and parking is plentiful and free. It has a Peaky Blinders restaurant. The room was clean and had a kitchenette with fridge which was useful. It was a bit noisy due to construction work in the street outside.

We’ve stayed in the hotel before, staff very friendly only we pre booked room 214 paid more as it the most haunted room and when we arrived was on a totally different floor. No one told us the room was unavailable or we would have booked a double room which is cheaper. Not happy about this at all as we booked at least a month in advance and they gave the room to someone that decided to stay an extra night.

Great stay
Rooms have been updated since we last stayed. Didn't realise our room would have a kitchen complete with cooker, fridge, hob, microwave, toaster, kettle and sink. Great location and free parking a bonus.
