This is one of the two hotels we stayed at while in Bergen. I had such high hopes for this place as it is new. However, other than a convenient location, everything else was a disaster. The front desk staff was chewing on pastries when I approached the desk and asked questions. One of the front desk staff even admitted to me that there isn't a manager on site for most of the time, which I found to be shocking. Also, it explains why the breakfast kitchen staff didn't know the difference between a sunny side up egg vs an over n easy one; and that the servers didn't know if they had decaf coffee or not and lead me to the tea selection. On two separate occasions (and I was only there for 3 nights) the breakfast staff told me they are new and didn't know everything. I also saw the kitchen staff stomping on empty egg cartons on the ground then proceeded to pick up the dirty carton and toss it into the trash can, without gloves on, and proceeded to cook items for breakfast. While it is a new building with new fixtures and finishings, the rooms are small and we had to be careful walking around the room so we won't bump into things. The breakfast looked nice, but tasted mediocre. To sum it up, it looks far better than it is. Disappointing. We stayed at another hotel a few days later and found that to be a much better choice.
