"Having stayed a few times over the years we knew what to expect . As usual all the staff were helpful and cheerful. However we stayed in room 6 overnight on a very hot day and night so the room was very uncomfortably hot and made sleeping a problem. We did notice there was an air conditioning unit in the ceiling which was not operating and there was no way to control it. "Room was adequate, the heated towel rail was on the other side of the bedroom wall so the bedroom was uncomfortably hot, even at night - but the wife preferred this. The bed was quite firm and a good size. It was difficult to view the TV screen from the settee on the back wall. Tea (Yorkshire) and coffees were plentiful - not so much biscuits. Full English, plus cereals, juice, toast and tea/coffee refills welcome."

"What a deceptively lovely place to stay. The exterior hides the warmth and friendliness inside. Beautifully up to date and simply designed interior. Easy to navigate and super clean. Access to the rooms can be up the fire escape stairs from the rear car park, best for us, or through the bar. And we took advantage of the cutlery and plates offered for our takeaway. Brilliant! "Fantastic communication from the outset. Easily found and right next door to The Mayflower public house so after a long journey there’s no further travelling to do to get an evening meal. Plenty of parking, very easy check in and an exceptional selection of produce supplied for breakfast next morning. Good heating system, great bed, powerful shower, all in all with all of the other attentions to detail a great stay, very highly recommended."
