Hotel Dekat beach near Alnmouth

"Honestly, had I been travelling alone, I don’t think I would have stayed. On arrival, the hotel appeared deserted and the main door was locked. After several minutes of banging, the only staff member on duty eventually appeared. When I asked about the advertised free parking, he pointed to where I had stopped on the street, partly on double yellow lines. Despite my concerns about parking illegally, he insisted it was fine and simply shrugged when I challenged him. Needless to say, I moved my...

"A lovely stay in Alnwick in September 2026. We had a large room with a view of the castle. Breakfast was very good as were the evening meal options. Staff were all friendly, helpful and seemed very competent."

"Run by a lovely, very helpful couple who want your stay to be as good as it can be. Provided parking, excellent breakfasts, helpful local knowledge. The room was very clean and was refreshed & restocked each day. Highly recommended."

"Good staff service. Room and bathroom very modern and clean, bed was comfortable and had a great sleep. Breakfast was good quality lovely fresh fruit. Great location and very friendly staff."

"Beautiful room with lots of lovely touches including the cookies and the cafeteria coffee. The choice of breakfast was really good and the coffee was great. The staff were attentive and very welcoming and gave us good suggestions of where to go and where was good to eat. A very special place we hope to go back soon. H"

"Staff were friendly and helpful. Lift was out of order for all of our stay which was not good as I have arthritis in both knees, left hip and right shoulder. There were a lot of stairs - this spoilt the holiday slightly for me"

"If you stay in the cottage the water is powered by a tank and therefore the hot water runs out and i therefore had to have a cold shower!!"

"After a last minute change of plans beyond our control, the staff really went above and beyond to make the stay comfortable, even providing food outside of kitchen hours and an earlier breakfast time. Can't say enough good things, would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in Alnwick."

"The bar & outside area was really good. Lovely beer garden. Staff were very friendly. We did not have breakfast but Dinner menu had a good selection of very tasty food."

"Tha staff were very helpful and polite, the hotel is well positioned for access to A1 and local bus route to Town. The room was perfect with plenty of room and an extra large bed. We had dinner in the hotel there was plenty of choice and all freshly cooked, excellent."

"Amazing inn with super attentive staff. Highly recommend!"

"Stayed with my wife for a one night break. The room itself was very nice and clean but unfortunately the bathroom/toilet had a rather unpleasant smell suggesting there were issues with the drains. It had been raining and the French window door had a poor seal at the bottom so the carpet there was wet. In the morning the hot water was only luke warm (we were told there was possibly a problem with the boiler and given an apology but nothing else). The bar lacked a nice seating area for hotel...
