The parking turned out to be an excellent boon in a city not designed for cars. The hosts helped us figure out what to see and where to go. Altogether, a very good stay, so good that we extended for a day"

"Lovely apartment in a historic building, ideally located just outside the city centre, but within easy walking distance of all places of interest in York. Nice touch of leaving a bottle of bubbly in the fridge - a good sign that the hosts are attentive. The apartment itself is well furnished and equipped, and really does feel like a home from home. Overall, thoroughly recommended."

"Good location. Helpful staff. Our room door was between the lift and the stairs. Banging till late at night from people walking up stairs. Room was very small. Thought it was funny that when I asked for more towels after 3rd day and was told okay but no free drink now."

"The staff were very helpful & friendly. The hotel rooms are a bit dated but very clean and the bed very comfortable. The dressing table has no lamp or light nearby, so it is hard to get ready, appying make up as the bathroom light isn't great either. There is a pub across the road which played loud music until 2am plus lots of noise outside first thing because of the main road. Saying that, we enjoyed our stay . The hotel is in a great location close to the sites if you don't mind the noise....

"Absolutely wonderful place to stay. Room clean, quiet and bed so comfortable, slept very well. All the staff were extremely helpful and kind. Breakfast was delicious, served freshly cooked on piping hot plates. Good parking, perfect location. We would not hesitate to stay again, good old fashioned hospitality thank you for looking after us x"
