"I have been staying in Dartmouth working for the past 8 months and wish I found this place sooner. It is a lovely room with views and the couple are lovely and very welcoming. This place is better than all the hotels that I have stayed in. Would 100% recommend and happily stay in again."

"I had a very pleasant and relaxing stay. Everything was clean and tidy and my room was lovely. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent with so much available. The location was perfect for getting around. I felt very welcome and I really appreciated the upgrade. Thank you, Christine and James."
"the bar in an hotel that large didnt have Bacardi totaly unaceptable for an hotel that caters for wedding events. also the rooms needed a better cleanerdust on the small table and the patio doors were filthy."
"Room clean, food good, staff friendly, only issue air conditioning wasnt working . Informed staff fan placed in room, however room still uncomfortably warm"
"I always enjoy my stays at The Grand, and have visited annually for 16 years.
The pool is fantastic and the ambience lovely. Great bar in wonderful setting with views of the bay, and reasonable prices for drinks.
Breakfast is good and tasty, but I have never liked the marmalade, far too sweet and sickly, and I wish they could provide sourdough in this day and age.
Rooms are clean and comfortable but found hot during my recent stay, and you cannot turn off the heated towel rail in the bathroom.
The main thing which lets the hotel down is the reception staff. It is the same year after year. You can be overcharged, if not on the ball, and even though I sent an email explaining about my two bookings and who would be in each room (and received an affirmative response), there was utter confusion on arrival and departure, and we witnessed other guests experiering similar issues. They were blaming the new system, but it has been the same story at reception for years. If only they would get an efficient reception manager to sort them out, I could then give five stars."
"Really disappointed. Regularly visit Paignton and usually stay in the Travelodge.
Thought that staying at the relatively new Ibis Styles would be an upgrade.... How wrong could I be.
Check in was really good. The member of staff that checked us in was friendly and genuine.
From that point it all went downhill.
The design of the shower room doesn't work. It has a channel drain across the shower that doesn't collect the water. It has a half width shower partition that doesn't reach the floor. The water that splashes off of your body, hits the screen and runs down beyond the channel and floods the bathroom floor.
To prevent this you have to put down a towel which ends up completely soaked.
We noticed that after having a shower, the drain smelt of urine for 2 hours afterwards. This happened on all three days.
The second morning breakfast was farcical. We arrived about 8.50am and hit problems from the start. There were no mugs available for the coffee and we had to wait. Then no plates for toast, pastries etc for about 20 minutes then these items started running out.
It then got worse. Food items were running out and not getting replenished quickly.
A lady was told the eggs would be 3-4 minutes, so I dished up the rest of my cooked items and made a start. They finally arrived over 10+15 minutes later. I had finished.
No plates were available for about 15 on the pastries/fruit station.
Value for money (Inc parking) was far worse than the Travelodge. Quality was worse."
"The hotel was dated and looked tired from the outside and inside.
The images online were very misleading and didn't look like the room that was promised.
The room itself was very small but the bedsheets and towels were clean.
The bathroom was in desperate need of being regrouted and cracked tiles needed to the replaced. The net curtains were dirty with cigarette holes in the them and there was a layer of dust on the valance.
Even though the 'quite' times were meant to start at 10pm, we could still the music from the bar area long after this and we were on the 3rd floor.
I've stayed in cheaper hotels that were a better standard than this...."
"Lovely clean room, bathroom a little dated. Restaurant only does breakfast and breakfast adequate, quite limited in selection.
Staff very friendly and couldn’t do enough to help."
