Best Western Bala hotels

"We booked a 1 bed apartment to sleep 4. The room was all set up for arrival with sofa bed and single bed in the lounge and double bedroom. Plenty tea coffee and biscuits. The room was clean and in good condition. Kitchen space was a little basic if you wanted to cook a meal. We didn’t cook but I noticed we were missing a sponge to be able to wash up the mugs we used (nothing major) and there looked to be an electric stove thing in the draw if you wanted to cook in the pans provided. The fridge was a decent size for a hotel. We ate in the restaurant one night and were pretty disappointed in the food especially for the price so opted to eat elsewhere the following nights of our stay. Breakfast was fine and something for everyone. Cereals, fruit, yoghurts, typical English fry up to help yourself to. There were vegetarian options on request too. It did feel like they had skeletal staff on in the restaurant and at breakfast. But the ladies working there were all really helpful with anything we needed and worked none stop. "

"Lovely accommodation but a barking dog waking you in the morning isn’t what need on Easter Sunday. Great food but waiting an hr for simple breakfast to be served is silly "

"We had a lovely welcome at reception, and we had booked a Spa afternoon before our check in . The welcome was not as forthcoming at the Spa , and it seemed a little disorganised. Be aware that if the hot tub is cancelled due to the weather , you will not get a refund, apparently it’s in the T’s & C’s . The room was lovely if a little tired as some other areas were as well , granted it’s an old building , but the maintenance was a little lacking . The service and welcome at the restaurant was very good for evening meals and breakfasts . A couple of criticisms , the wine glasses could nicer , not ordinary glasses , especially as your spending £60 on a bottle of wine . The other was at breakfast, the plates were in a cabinet , which initially I thought was for heating the plates . This wasn’t the case , the plates were freezing and your breakfast was soon cold . "

"Overall a really good stay, very basic but clean. The staff we seen were friendly and nice. "

"The hotel was ok for the price, some of the staff appear to have a lack of interest in there jobs especially the young lady in breakfast this morning there was no glass cups for cold drinks no orange juice left no bread for toasting milk empty in coffee machine and had to be told as she just kept walking past the tables not cleared and she was very load when communicating with kitchen staff the breakfast itself was very nice."

"First then we comming no have hot water we ask reception what its going on they answer waiting engineers . We was 2 days by the its nobody fix . Still no hot water then we check in the morning . People then going somewhere check or rooms doors clock because we have like don't work clock thinks . After 2 h they fix . But anyway I'm personally no recommend thus hotel anyone ."

"We have just returned from a lovely overnight stay at Tyn y Coed to celebrate my boyfriends Birthday, couldn't fault a thing, staff couldn't do enough for us, room was clean, warm and comfortable, the food was outstanding,we ate our evening meal there and also breakfast which was delicious. "This place was amazing, we had such a great stay while we visited North Wales for a hiking trip. Food was really nice and a great choice of food. Staff can't do enough for you and are very attentive for all your needs. To finish it off we used the Spa to have a lazy day before travelling home, this was really good as well, my wife had a treatment and said it was the best she has ever had. If there was one thing I could fault, this was the beds were too hard for our liking, but know this is just personal preference and didn't spoil our trip. When back in the area, this will be the place we will be booking to stay, maybe will take a memory foam mattress topper with us to sleep better lol."

"Great choice breakfast, plenty of car parking. Evening restaurant food is ok, not great. Swimming pool facilities were great. Overall plesent stay and would book again."
