"I embrace historic charm and quirkiness; what I don’t like are doors to bathrooms and bedrooms that don’t shut properly and lack of cleaning. The bedroom was described as deluxe double but there is nothing deluxe about it. The carpet was stained and had not been vacuumed recently as evidenced by dead flies and numerous bits. The door to the bedroom could not be properly closed and there was no lock. I’m not sure why this couldn’t be rectified as the door frames seemed relatively new and...

"It was a nice pub originally built in the 1600s. Free parking and they are working on upgrades to the rooms. Our room had been done, but the cleaner had missed a couple of small things (previously opened sparkling water). But the staff was very accommodating and even booked us a table for supper, just in case we decided to have it there. Great service!!"

"This place wasn’t what we hoped for so we didn’t stay. The room was not as big as it seemed on photos, no room to put our suitcases out. Room was dated and doors opened out onto parking lot. Very dark, no lights outside and muddy from a water main break. To make matters worse, a policeman knocked on door to say there had been an armed robbery nearby and offender was seen nearby. Very scary and unnerving. We decided we couldn’t stay and found another hotel. Swan House were not willing to refund....
